Hey guys, I recently completed the monster hunt series and decided to post the decks I won with that I remembered to capture.
Houndmaster took me the longest and I got too excited that I finally won to capture the list but I'll talk about it below.
Tess:
I just went all tempo with this deck, picking key treasures like Entrenchment and annoying early minions like Secretkeeper. I defeated her nemesis ultimately by discovering Freezing Trap over and over when he got to playing his Fel Reaver guys and I destroyed his deck every turn and killed all but one reaver to send it back to his hand. It took me about 3 tries to win all 8 fights.
Deck:
Cannoneer:
This may have been the most unexpected win, I ended up picking mostly random stuff and it worked out somehow. I got both cannon treasures (extra cannon guy and extra damage) and some mega guys and Woecleaver to seal the deal quickly with the aid of the Scepter of Summoning.
deck:
Houndmaster:
I'm not sure why, but Hunter based classes always seem to give me the most trouble in PvE content. (I severely struggled against The Lich King boss, Hunter was my third-to-last dungeon run completion and it took 83 bosses defeated before I completed one run in this stupid Monster Hunt. Anyways, I had some cool combos. I went with the 'companions' deck theme most of the way and got a couple Menagerie Wardens, Mukla's Champions and Dire Frenzy buffs. I made sure to get the treasures that would give me tempo advantages off the start. I ended up with the Mercenary that fills your hand with coins (great against the Echo dude), the 3 cost spell that draws one and gives two copies of a free card and also the enemy minions cost more passive. I also had a Lock and Load that gave mega fuel with the coins, and a Stampede (which I got three of for the boss with my other treasure) that gave me enough fuel to push through to the end. I made sure to wait out Glinda's Twisting Nether and DOOM! before fully committing to the board. Overall I think landing a Dire Frenzy on a Vicious Scalehide to deal with the 6/3 infinite guys was what won me the game in the end.
Time-Tinker:
I had the most fun with this hero. I went all out with the mage quest and double first spell and +3 Spell Damage. When the Infinite Toki started the second game, I hadn't received any damage and won before I even completed my quest. I had a clutch Greater Arcane Missiles deal with his bid 1 mana dude before he annihilated me too.
Toki, by a country mile. All other classes I completed in 3 tries, Toki took me 7. I was stopped by Azaline 4 freaking times, it was infuriating. So much RNG, a little is fun Blizzard, but making it so nearly all the aspects of this classes runs come down to simply what the computer decides for you, it really makes it far from enjoyable.
Edit: Yeah, might as well post the lists, the ones that can be seen.
I thought so as well at first but my winning run was so rewarding and game-breakingly good it made it up for me.
Houndmaster took the most tries for me. I comleted Darius in one try, Tess in 2 tries, and Toki in 3 tries. I think Shaw took me 6 tries. I was always trying to make some funky Big Minion hunter or other dumb shit, until I finally gave up and just started taking Pack Mentality and the Deathrattle buckets.
