They have almost no scaling other than maybe a golden Salty Looter and Gold Grubber which you have to get pretty lucky with.
Peggy Brittlebone is laughable compared to other tribes scaling options. Tony Two Tusk...Avenge FIVE??? Yeah how do you make that work in Pirates?
Nosy Looter isn't really a Pirate so much as its just a support unit for all Tribes and just grants a Golden card.
Not sure why they got rid of Bloodsail Cannoneer. Atleast the attack buffs could keep Pirates competitive until trying to establish their late game builds.
They for sure have to be the worst tribe in the game now.
Yeah pirates are now just a support for other classes. Can not really win on there own easily. Best I saw was Dog using millhouse with brittlebone and elementals. I used noisy to get value in menagire. But yeah, other than value not a real strategy by itself.
The only realistic thing you can do with pirates right now is the silly Pirates + Khadgar + Rivendale combo and that is not too likely to work against final boards with minions with 50, 60, 100, 200 health.
One thing Pirates had going for them was the ability to do stupid amounts of damage because if they attacked first, they might each grow out of reach of death.
Now with the 15 damage cap, the guy that picked Patches isn't going to be able to do 26 damage to an opponent on 8 mana.
Seems right now only Dragons and Demon are viable although sometimes Murlocs because all poisonous is hard to deal with especially for demons.
Peggy works great! Came in first place in a very tough crowd. The guy with the beasts that won 7 in a row and didn't expect to see such large pirates, and in back to back matches wasn't able to do anything about the ever-growing size of my pirates.
I'm no Dog, but my largest 2 Pirates were 100/100
