I almost cried... of joy! Of seeing such a gimmicky deck work.
I was on standard combo druid. Guy ramped with wild growth, managed to control my board, got down a ramped Ysera, then Aviana + Ragnaros combo and proceeded to grind my board till he could finish me with minions (no combo piece!)
It was the FIRST Aviana druid I've ever seen in action. And ironically, it worked.
Hotform was running one with sea witches last week. Had probably around a 70% win rate for him, though ymmv. He tends to do pretty well with really bad decks :)
I main Druid and just do ramp in ranked. No combo at all. Use Aviana as well. Very entertaining and even when I put her down with one other big minion it is worth it. Very fun. She is underrated in my opinion. They say she is a win more card but there was times when I had nothing on the board to my opponents 3-4 minions and came back to win countless times. Aviana, Lotheb, and Kel thuzad on the same turn is gg every time.
A couple of days ago my opponent (a mage) conceded after I coined Cho then played Millhouse turn 2. gg. Only casual, in my 'fun cards' deck. Millhouse is generally bad...
I like ramp druid with no combo, I need to try Aviana.
I've met a couple, they failed. They either drew her out too late [you really want to ramp/innervate her out] , or didn't have anything decent to go with on turn 10+ and I had already pretty much won by then.
Thing is, for the sake of efficiency, why would someone want to extend (and risk losing) a game they can win on T9 with combo? Because up to that point both decks are very similar: ramp, aspirants, removals, shredders, belchers, azures, boom etc.
I can only see it being played for the fun (and it isn't that fun btw imo)
I lost back to back games to an Astral communion druid a couple of weeks ago. The guy was running every good 7+ cost legendary in the game plus wild growths, innervates, naga sea witches and aviana. It was just crazy. First game he Innervate coined communion on turn 1 which is basically gg. Second game he wasn't so lucky but he still managed to wild growth turn 2 into communion turn 4. By then I had a board so I could fight back a little bit it wast enough because he top decked death wing on turn 6 or 7.

I once had the honor and lost to an Angry Chicken, and I am proud of it.
