Hahaha, I won't mind losing for 80 gold. I just ended my turn and instant 80 gold came. Its even faster than trying to win. Why didn't you just let your friend win in the first place. :D

It is against my principle to let him/she win without fair fight

Cutting through all the bs here, it sounds like (from your friend's perspective anyway) he was proposing a trade. He will essentially give you 80g which is a pretty big favour to you and in return you would do him a favour and let him win so he could get a quest done or whatever. You then didn't hold up your end of the bargain so he retracted his offer.
You were offered 80g to let your opponent win. You didn't let your opponent win. You are not entitled to the 80g.
I agree with this.
Still, he seemed pretty annoyed to ragequit like that. perhaps he was 1 win away from completing 60gold quest with a class he didnt like, so he thought he could get both done quickly.
Basically, the two of you went into this without much empathy on what the other is after. You both said words you both agreed to, but neither really HEARD what the other said or thought about what the other wanted.
By how it sounds, your friend wanted a win. You wanted a match. You both still went into this without changing your stances. That's why what happened happened.
Ignore the words said that day. What type of person is your friend? Are they really that big in 'fair matches'? How well do thy handle losing?
Does your friend, meanwhile, know about your policy, that you don't give out free stuff and always want that match up? It sounds like they didn', otherwise they wouldn't have asked, or went in knowing they may not get it.
The folks saying "new friends" is silly. If you dump people because the two of you had something wrong happen then that's the definition of a Sunshine friend: a person worth nothing more than just light conversation and nothing else. REAL friendships and relationships will have bumps. THe question is whether they ar ewilling to talk to each other and smooth it out between them. If you let it hang as in "well, that's they're problem." THEN it's time for a new
TL:DR
This is a friend matter. As in you need to contact your friend, find out what's going on, and make sur eyou and him are still cool with the way you two do things (disagree maybe, but willing to accept how the other person does things). If you two then wnat to agree on how to handle this quest then go for it. If not, they can make a dummy account.

Sounds pretty fair to me.
If his 80g quest is still up, he can try vs. another friend.

So just now friend invited me for 80 gold Play-A-Friend quest.
Friend asked me to let him/her win.
But I beat him/her, so he/she left at last minute to refuse me the 80 gold,
Did I do something wrong?
Why didn't you let your friend win?

Yeah, conceding obviously doesn't reward anyone.

Well maybe you should have told your friend that you wouldnt have let him win.
If someone asks you to let him win, its clear that he doesn't want a long 'fair' fight and just a fast 80g for both of you.
Calling a friend petty on forums only for that looks a bit salty and childish.

This is how true friendship dies...
