Being a player that has been working hard to get a nice collection of cards, im not even going to try laddering in standard, i know this applies to 90% of you guys. This mean nobody will see our ranking in wild mode, so we can't brag about it (My ego hurts so bad right now), and our rank point wont count toward tournaments. I find this extremely unbalanced (like hearthstone itself), i mean i know blizzard tried to help the new players, but what about the older ones? We built a huge collection, some people put lots of money on it, and now all that "just doesn't count".
If MTG is any indication (and it should be), there will always be tournaments and games in Wild mode. Many people play MTG regularly, without ever buying a Standard deck. You can keep playing Wild mode if you want, forever.
The Wild mode is my default mode, because I have put too much money into HS to be limited blah! I love having access to some of my favorite cards, and I don't plan on using Standard that much once this crap is live

If your only complaint that you won't get to show off your Rank... you don't really have a complaint.

That's what I thought when I was a MtG player... but Standard just seduces you over time... You will see...
I am happy with the changes for my P2wIN account, but really this really sucks for my F2P account, just bought Naxx and crafted Boom...... took months.......
Then what would be the alternative? Honestly I've seen so many people collectively soil themselves over this that there hasn't been much of a viable alternative.
"Buff or nerf older cards." Sure thing. Oh and while they're doing that I'll just be looking for a new game to play, because Hearthstone will have run out of money because who tf needs to buy the new set when the old cards are just as good?
"Just keep making different cards." How? What cards can you actually make without breaking the game? If you don't make a new format, then you have no room for design space, unless you seriously want to wait every week for a challenging tavern brawl.

This change isn't simply about helping new players. It's about the growth and evolution of the game. Even many old players want a meta shakeup and it just doesn't make sense to be playing the same decks again year after year.
Some people will dislike the change; but, it's more controversial than it should be, IMO. Formats/rotations are the cornerstone of every CCG so I saw it coming a long time ago.
i dont know why everyone is complaining....maybe you dont actually understand what the changes are...if you wanna play exactly the way you are playing now all you have to do is to choose "WILD" mode and play ranked....U DONT LOSE ANY OF THE NAXX AND GVG CARDS....if you think the new mode "Standard" is shit because it will not have the Naxx and GvG cards just play "Wild" mode....why all the people think that they will lose old cards or something? both "wild" and "standard" mode will have ranked play so everything is cool....
It has only been a few hours since the official announcement, so some confusion is still to be expected, but the majority of comments that I've seen here, on the official forum and on Twitter indicate the overwhelming majority of players fully understand what you wrote. After all, it only takes 10-15 minutes to read the announcement and the included FAQ. But there are other legitimate concerns discussed, such as the phasing out of the adventures and expansions (starting from Naxx & GvG), their removal from the shop, the new expansion, the incoming nerfs etc.

Have you never played a ccg before?

Make the Card: The biggest thread on the site!
My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.

Victory or Death!
Standard will be king for sure.
But Wild will still find its place for fun decks and what not.

Wild Mode will be a disaster, full of the OP deck of the moment. Right now it would be 85% Secret Paladin.
