Welcome one and all to the first ever Hearthstone Deckbuilding Competition! In all fairness, this probably isn't the first attempt at something like this, but I digress.
If you've been on Hearthpwn or Reddit or hell anything on the internet where Hearthstone is being discussed, you've probably seen someone complaining about netdecking or maybe even complained about it yourself. Netdecking is a fundamental problem in games with a finite pool of resources to work from. From Magic to the Pokemon video game, every single team building, deck building, character building, etc game has builds that are considered top tier or a cut above. This is something that honestly can't be helped, but for those who don't just want to stick with "what works" this competition is for you.
In my deckbuilding competition, a theme, group of cards, or group of decks to counter will be chosen and you will then be prompted to build decks under these specifications. This thread may be used to discus your decks or bounce ideas off of one another. Once you feel confident with you deck, send the Hearthpwn deck code to me and I will setup a voting thread after the deadline.
So without further ado here is what you will be building around this week:
Build a deck that utilizes Hemet in a fun or interesting way. Hemet is one of the more interesting and underutilized cards to come out of Ungoro. While it has a very powerful effect, the overall speed of the game has made things tough for our friend here. With that being said, there's so much that could be done with this card, so let's see what the creative people here at Hearthpwn can do!
Rules below
Only one submission per player.
Do not plagiarize. You may build off of an idea you see elsewhere, but please refrain from directly copying anything.
Do not sabotage others.
Try to refrain from putting people down. Criticism is welcomed and generally appreciated, but don't escalate things past that point. This is a friendly competition with any number of different skill levels in deck building.
All submissions are due on July 2nd at 11:59 PM EST / July 3rd at 3:59 AM GMT via PM to me.
Good luck everyone!
PS: If anyone has any suggestions for future competitions, please PM me so as not to clog the thread.
Say... Does the Hemet Holy Wrath Paladin count for this? It's already a deck that has been tried before the post, and I assume some people are familiar with it.
If you can make your own unique spin on it then sure. As you said, it is a deck that has been tried before so posting someone elses list would fall under plagiarism unfortunately.
