Since Blizzard teased us with the new Warrior Hero card, I've been super excited over the new expansion. Dr. Boom is, after all, our dearest Dr. 7!
WIthout further ado, here's my take on the new Hero Card. What are your thoughts on it?
The idea is quite simple really. Boom Bots will always be one of the most iconic cards and mechanics in the game. So why not bring those little bastards back? With the new Battlecry, similar to Druid's Poison Seeds, you will destroy all minions on board and replace them with those pesky unstable little dudes. This could mean a couple of things.
First: You can easily get rid of big boards made by some classes like Odd Rogue, Even Shaman, Taunt Druid, Recruit etc. Brawl does the job too! But Warrior needs other tools to get back from the dead. After all, Warrior is in a pretty bad shape at the moment. But there's a price! If your opponent got a full board and you transform them in Boom Bots, prepare to take a lot of damage!
Secondly: With this tool, you can easily do some extra naughty damage for a final push on your opponent. Picture this: You're in control of the board with 4 minions against 0 from your opponent. It's your turn and you're at 9 mana. You hit your opponents face for a total of 12 damage, leaving them at 9 hp left. Why not sacrifice your board presence for a chance of killing him? Transform your minions into Boom Bots, Whirlwind or Warpath the shit out of them and enjoy the fireworks!!!! Since Boom Bots does 1-4 damage, who knows what could happen? Either an epic win or an epic comeback from your opponent!
Ok, so our hero battlecry is covered. How about the new Hero Power?
So, for this I've inspired myself on the unique mechanics of Build-A-Beast. By merging two powerful effects into one card, you'll have a great way of keeping Warrior alive in the late game! Haven't given much thought about the powerful effects yet, but the idea is you got a pool of effects (maybe 10 or 15 in total) and you'll discover random ones just like below:
First discover option:
Give your minions +2 Health. (2)
Deal 1 damage to all minions. (2)
Destroy a random enemy minion. (5)
Second discover option:
Deal 2 damage (2)
Draw 1 card (2)
Discover a Taunt minion (1)
Then just add the mana options and the effects and you got yourself a pretty sweet deal! Just like Build-A-Beast, but in the form of Build-A-Spell.
