If you want a detailed description of what the deck does, I'd strongly recommend reading this link here. This will help you understand a lot more of what the deck aims to achieve.
Now all the changes I've made have been for personal taste, I prefer the Arcanite Reaper over Mortal Strike (Never got MS to begin with though) and I'm using the Warsong Commander over the Raging Worgen, simply because I was never able to get much use out of them any time during the game, as they'd be picked off 90% of the time. The Commander's though I've been able to make ample use of.
However, I have been coming into some issues with this deck, especially during the early game. I find myself having a hard time dealing with decks that have a ton of minions, maybe a Shaman deck that throws out all their totems, minions and lusts. I just never seem to have enough time to set up card draws or an Armorsmith.
Now I've been considering dropping the Arcanite Reaper for Shield Block, as it'd give me a bit more survivability, some card draw and at a lower cost. However, Arcanite Reaper has saved my ass more than a few times. I've also considered Slam, but seems rather weak in comparison.
So what I want to ask, is there anything I can do to modify the deck slightly, without changing the play style entirely to deal with this sort of threat? Or is it simply just something I won't be able to get around without awesome top decking?
Well you said in the reddit post that the Wild Pyromancer wasn't extremely viable. So perhaps drop that for a brawl? But I'm not sure how much you use the Wild Pyromancer so that may not be an option. But either way it's probably worth it to have a Brawl in there somewhere.

Oh, just want to clarify that the reddit post was not made by me, and all credit goes to who the author credited and the author himself for the impressive write-up.
As it is right now I combo the Pyromancer with whirlwind, utilizing the armorsmiths (If I have a board full of minions and x2 of those it's pretty nuts, but it doesn't happen often at all) as well as getting more attack for the berserkers (Gurubashi and Frothing) Can also be handy for getting additional card draw off of the Acolytes later in the game when the opponents minions hit for 3 or more.
I have really considered Brawl, and it is a fantastic card - But there's rarely a time where I don't have some good minions on the field. Maybe it just calls for the sacrifice should I need it, I'd imagine I'd only need a single Brawl in the deck anyway.

Yeah I feel one should be enough because it is such a situational card. It also means you don't have to completely get rid of a stack of cards. :D

Pyro works decent with commanding shout and procing the enrage on creatures.
Yeah I guess removing the Pyromancer isn't much of an option. However I still do believe he needs a brawl to deal with rush decks.
