Which (if either) do you run and how many of each? I've been trying out different combinations in an effort to determine what works best.
Ghouls are great, but there are times when I have a ghoul in my hand and I wish it were a whirlwind, so for now I'm running one of each.
I know some people don't run either, but both of these cards are amazing against the huntards. They're often even better than Cleave in that matchup with so many spiders and snake traps running around. It'd be amazing to have 2 x of each against aggro, but alas there just isn't enough room to squeeze everything.
The reason I run whirlwind is it's great for clearing out a hunter's board in addition to activating Gromm. They can play around a Ghoul (silence with an owl or hit it with a weapon), but they can't play around whirlwind.
It depends on what kind of deck you're running. If you already have a death's bite (or two) like you should, whirlwind is kind of unnecessary. The problem with Ghoul is that it's really not that strong early, it's better to use it when the enemy has a board, so a T2 ghoul will always seem sub-par.

I am running 2 x Death's Bite, but having the whirlwind in addition just seems so good against hunter. It does however take up a spot that could be used for another big legendary or something along those lines, but those aren't as important vs aggro.

I cut whirlwind completely. Between my one of Ghoul and My one of Death's Bite and 2 Task Masters i usually have no issue activating Grommash.

That parrot is full of snakes!
I will take a T2 ghoul vs agro any day. Granted I would rather have and axe but they only let you play 2. =)

I've also cut whirlwinds. I prefer having frothing berserkers since I have ghouls, the synergy is just amazing vs aggro.
