I bring you this scenario: my opponent has a Small-Time Buccaneer and two other minions on the board. I play Misdirection and Explosive Trap. My opponent attacks my face with Buccaneer, Misdirection triggers, the Buccaneer changes his target and goes to attack one of his other minions, but the freaking Explosive Trap triggers before the Buccaneer hits that minion and it dies. Does that seem logical to you guys?
It's unfortunate, but the traps are working as intended. Your hero was attacked which triggers both Misdirection and Explosive Trap. It's the same as the interaction between Freezing Trap and Explosive Trap. Both traps will trigger if you hero is attacked so Freezing sends the minion back to your opponent's hand and Explosive goes off.
Here is a full explanation of pretty much every interaction you will ever see with Misdirection.
It's one of the few cards in Hearthstone where knowing all the nitty-gritty details is absolutely critical to using the card well, because weird cases seem to pop up all the time.
