So Yogg-Saron, Hope's End appears to be a loved card by this community because of its potential to get funny outcomes and turn games around. In my opinion, it's a stupid card that just helps the dumbing down of Hearthstone.
My main issue with the card is that it's pure uncontrolled rng, you never know whether he'll win or lose you the game. And personally, I don't find it fun to lose a game against an opponent who you're dominating because he gets incredibly lucky off his Yogg-Saron, Hope's End.
I wouldn't find it fun to win like that either because it would feel undeserved.
I thought the same when this card was revealed, and thought the community would aggree with me. I thought Hearthstoners hated random outcomes because they make this game less skill based.
And sure, I get that you like Yogg-Saron, Hope's End better than some other rng cards because of the huge amount of randomness that has the potential to do some pretty funny stuff. But in all honesty, if you win purely because of Yogg-Saron do you feel good? You've just won a game because you got lucky, not because you outskilled your opponent.
So I wonder:Do you aggree with me? Or don't you mind randomness in general? Or do you hate randomness but still like Yogg-Saron, Hope's End?
RNG cards are amazing. Right now, my favourite decks are Evolve Shaman and Renounce Warlock, both of which produce unpredictable results, but with decent value attached. However, with each of those decks you need to pilot your every move to flip the RNG switch at the right time. For Evolve to work well, you need a decent board, a set up Thing from Below and still hope that one of your totems does not become a Doomsayer. You partially rely on luck, but most of the gameplay is a decent setup, and the reward is a funny way of winning.
Same with simpler cards like Mad Bomber. This guy on its own is pretty bad, and potentially can hit you in the face 3 times. But, knowing its rng factor, you can kind of manipulate your luck and squeeze a lot of value out of him. Playing Mad Bomber against a token heavy board almost always is a good idea. Divine Shields? No problem! You just need to rely on RNG a bit at a specific time.
Yogg-Saron, Hope's End is just... well, completly random. There is NO situation where you can say to yourself "yeah, now is the right time to drop him". He can hit both you and the opponent in the face, he can clear both your and your opponents board. The closest card to that is probably Gelbin Mekkatorque, since it can both screw you and help you - but with Gelbin you can have spare mana to offset his bad result. Yogg-Saron, Hope's Ends RNG is fully uncontrollable, and thus, both boring to play and to play against. Even Trolden videos with him are getting boring.

Fuck cubelock
Because it's a fun card that typically commits sudoku.
Because fun and memorable moments will always be cherished more than stale, redundant games.

I agree, but for different reasons.
