So after my massive crafting binge when standard arrived the only thing I have left that's even worth disenchanting is a golden Cairne Bloodhoof. I want to craft Xaril, Poisoned Mind for miracle rogue, but I'm kind of attached to my Cairne since it's been one of my favorite cards since beta(it might also actually be good). It might be decent in a N'zoth deck but I haven't tried one yet. N'zoth is also a card I'm considering crafting since I don't have a slow pally deck to play currently. I feel like every time I play Cairne in a slower deck like control warrior it accomplishes nothing so I was wondering where it would fit or if I should even keep him at all.
It's definitely good in N'Zoth paladin, but I can't say it's too good outside of that. Mainly just represents a continual threat that trades well with midrange minions. It really only works cause Paladin has insane removal with Wild Pyromancer, Equality, Consecration as well as a lot of healing, since Cairne doesn't protect your face much.
If you aren't planning on playing that deck, it wouldn't be terrible to disenchant him for a card that will allow you to play a deck you want to play.
Cairne is a decent card in a lot of decks. And when I say 'decent' I mean serviceable but there are probably better alternatives out there. But you might not have those other alternatives, so...
The exception, as has already been pointed out, is N'Zoth decks where he really shines.

N'Zoth plays along Cairne.
So, if you wanna play a n'zoth deck, play cairne (except in rogue).

The only cancer in Hearthstone is its community.
You probably shouldn't disenchant good classic legendaries for one that will eventually rotate out.
