Just a honest opinion, that I feel like rat king is one of the most Tilting heroes as it is too random at times.
Like one game I played against someone who has "King of Beasts" multiply times in the game and seemed to get it on a turn with 3 beasts and ended up dominating the mid game.
Then I played it with a modest Pirate build and saw "King of pirates" Once in like 6 turns and lost miserably.
Now I am not saying it is broken, but out of all the heroes this one seems the most random, which seems a bit unhealthy imo, I wish it was a bit consistent like you knew what your next hero power would be or it would only transform into ones you have not had in a while.
It just sometimes feels like you are not playing with a hero power at all.
I don't think it's the most random... Sometimes it gives you a very strong early game, sometimes it doesn't, but overall I think it's good enough on average. If you can use your buff like 3 or 4 times early it should be enough to carry you to late game. It's unlikely to get extremely unlucky and can't use the hero power at all.
I think it's ok, I would rather change/remove others heroes instead

His HP is really, really strong so the chance it has is there to off-set it. After the early game, you can roll until you find a fitting peace even.
It's obviously useless late-game, but so are many early-game stat HPs.
Not for me personally. Yog, the new pirates, archthief and others are much scarier for me. I can definitely see what you mean though.
Everytime I play him I never get any minions from the HP buff every turn lol
It happened once I was playing him and in my turn 3 tavern (5gold) I had 3 rat packs and my hero power was on beasts. Easiest first place ever.
After that, I never had that luck again or even close, but I don't mind picking him😁
