This deck is generally good vs everything but Freeze Mage. You can still beat Freeze Mage with well timed silence on your frozen Void Anomaly that can swing for an insta kill, but it is not so easy.
It generally eats hunters for breakfest, if u understand how the void mechanic works (when minions die on an empty board or with a friendly minion present) or when u dont get absoutely abysmal opening hand, but nothing can save you from that in any deck :)
*Very important to understand!*
How the Void Singularity interacts with deathrattle minions that spawn tokens on death?
This is a very important aspect of the brawl to understand, cause sometimes u want to spawn an additional token for the cost of a bit of stats to be able to trigger Vaporize/Freezing Trap with something else than the Void Anomaly. And sometimes u want to let that 2/2 Hyena alive to deny your opponent extra stats from his next play.
When a minion that spawns a token via deathrattle is played on an empty board (your empty board, opponent's board state doesnt matter), the Void Singularity triggers twice.
- You u play a Harvest Golem on a naked board
- The Void Singularity devours the original Harvest Golem forming a 2/3 Void Singularity
- Harvest Golem's death then triggers its deathrattle and spawns a 2/1 token
- Then, the Void Singularity tiggers again, devouring the already formed 2/3 Void Singularity + the recently dead body of the Harvest Golem + the new body of the 2/1 token
- Final result is a 6/7 Void Singularity.
When a minion that spawns a token via deathrattle is played on a board with a friendly minion present, the Void Singularity triggers only once!
- You u play a Harvest Golem on a board with a 2/1 Void Singularity
- The Void Singularity devours the original Harvest Golem and the existing 2/1 Void Singularity forming a new 4/4 Void Singularity
- Harvest Golem's death then triggers its deathrattle and spawns a 2/1 token
- Final result is a 4/4 Void Singularity and a 2/1 token.
Deck list choices:
Minions:
- Glacial Shard: freezes + combo start for Vilespine Slayer and Kidnapper.
- Mistress of Mixtures: heals + combo start for Vilespine Slayer and Kidnapper. Also for something to play on T1, cause u dont want to play Glacial Shard. I have this instead of more commonly used Runic Egg, cause the heal is nice later on, since u will be taking some extra damage from clearing with Envenom Weapon and cause you can suicide it to the enemy Void Singularity as to not F-up your T3 play on a naked board with extra stats. Egg cant attack = u would lose on extra stats cause of a friendly minion present.
- Ancient Watcher: raw stats on T2.
- Loot Hoarder: card draw and something to play on T2.
- Devilsaur Egg: 5/11 Void Anomaly when played on a naked board, better than Humongous Razorleaf, but can also spawn a token to trigger Vaporize/Freezing Trap.
- Harvest Golem: 6/7 Void Anomaly when played on a naked board, about as good as Humongous Razorleaf, but can also spawn a token to trigger Freezing Trap (hardly Vaporize, since 2/1 will get pinged).
- Spellbreaker: for unfreezing your Void Anomaly for a surprise swing of damage. Mainly vs mages, usually try to wait until u can insta kill em with the Void Anomaly (they will not let u repeat the process second time around and u will most likely die), they like to let it grow before destroying it when they can chain-freeze it to not waste poly early. Be sure there is no Vaporize equipped tho.
- Twilight Summoner: 7/7 Void Anomaly on a when played on a naked board, about as good as Ticking Abomination, but can also spawn a token to trigger Vaporize/Freezing Trap.
- Big Game Hunter: removal.
- Corpse Raiser: mainly to spawn a token to trigger Vaporize/Freezing Trap, but in general it will give u a copy of your existing Void Anomaly for extra dmg or whatever, since the Void Anomaly will now act as a deathrattle minion spawning token and theCorpse Raiser's body will act as a friendly minion on board, the devour process will then trigger only once, leaving out a second intact Void Anomaly.
- Vilespine Slayer: removal.
- Cairne Bloodhoof: 12/15 Void Anomaly Void Anomaly on a when played on a naked board, which r nice cost efficient stats, but can also spawn a token to trigger Vaporize/Freezing Trap
- Frost Elemental: freezes + body.
- Kidnapper: basically more expensive Sap with a body.
Spells:
Basically all spells (except Envenom Weapon) should be used after u bait as much crap as u can out of your opponent while freezing the Void Anomaly ... but thats the ideal scenario, dont be affraid to use em early, there is plenty of removal in this deck.
- Sap: removal, ideally after some freezes.
- Envenom Weapon: this one is probably the most controversial card in the mix, the key is to use it to remove (preferrably) low attack anomalies or token minions and have an early comeback tool, if u cannot play anything on T2 and basically all u can do is hero power. I run just one copy, u rly cannot take 4 hits, 2 will be more than enough dmg taken.
- Assassinate: removal, ideally after some freezes, but since its way costlier than Sap, play it for the most tempo, not the most value.
Replacements:
If u want more f2p version, u can certainly replace Cairne Bloodhoof with another Twilight Summoner or any epic card with any of the cards mentioned below.
- If u want more "guaranteed" way to trigger Vaporize/Freezing Trap, try adding Stonetusk Boars/Southsea Deckhands, prolly change them for Mistress of Mixtures, but in general u can change them for whatever card u think u need the least
- If u want more raw stats at any given time feel free to replace any 3 or 4 drops with Humongous Razorleaf and/or Ticking Abomination.
- If u want more card draw replace Mistress of Mixtures with Runic Eggs.
- If u dont feel like using your hero power at all, replace Envenom Weapon with anything mentioned above.
- If u want to feel like the King of the World, you can try N'Zoth, the Corruptor ... but any game will hardly ever last that long for u to be able to play him, so he will be a dead draw most of the time :)
Feel free to tinker with the deck, but this is the most stable version so far.
Im not gonna claim this is the best deck there is, but it gets the job done fairly consistently in most matches. It does take a few matches to get a grip on some combos or to figure out when to play certain cards, but once u do that, ur golden!
Good luck and have fun!
This deck has so many answers! I played 7 games with this deck and didn't lose a single one. I give you props for thinking of it. Well played sir.
