Hi,
I'm Danny and is a regular Legend player, hitting Legend every season.
i took my previous Top 100 Legend C'Thun Warrior list and tweaked it to counter some popular meta decks to hit Legend this season.
Some cards I swapped in were Cleave, Beckoner of Evil, Bash, and ooze against Aggro.
Against Control, I swapped in Doomcaller.
The deck have a good win rate against Pirate Warrior, Aggro Shaman, Renolock and Dragon Priest.
It struggles against Jade Druid and Rogue.
Mulligan and Strategy
Against Aggro - War Axe, Cleave, Bash, Ravaging Ghoul, Beckoner of Evil, Disciple of C'thun, Acidic Swamp Ooze. If you have war axe, you can consider keeping acolyte of pain, shield block + shield slam if you don't have the other starting mulligan cards.
You want all your early cards to control board and minimize damage. C'Thun activators are great such as disciple and beckoner since you need two cards to get shield bearer and vek'lor going.
Gameplan - Control the board early and once it goes to the late game or when you drop shield bearers, Vek'lor, C'thun, you win.
Against Reno Lock - Keep c'thun activators such as beckoner, disciple and C'thun's chosen. Keep either an execute or shield slam (sometimes both) in your starting hand. I would keep shield block and bash if I have shield slam in mulligan. It's used to kill mountain giant / twilight drake when they drop it on turn 4. I don't find war axe a high priority keep in this match up since they don't have early minions to kill and they can ooze it. Look for an activator for execute if you have it in starting hand. Cards to consider, ravaging ghoul, disciple. Dropping acolyte on curve on an empty board is fine as it baits out a shadow bolt or you can trade it with a giant/drake as an execute activator.
Gameplan - Play C'thun then Doomcaller for second C'thun. You can even burst them after they jaraxxus. This is a skill match up and if you don't have experience playing it, you can lose easily. Simple mistakes will cause you the game. When play well, you are favored especially with Doomcaller. They have limited big threats so use your removals carefully, Try not to waste your executes and shield slams on small minions less than 6 mana (except twilight drake).
Against Control - Mulligan for C'thun activators (beckoner, disciple, c'thun's chosen), war axe. Keep justicar if you're facing another control warrior.
Gameplan - For most match ups, fatigue and burst with double C'thun.
I'm short on time to write any guide at the moment but want to get the list out there for you to try.
With enough likes or +
- I'll create a more thorough discussion about playing the deck and against classes.

Thanks for stopping by.
A few questions Guys, any replace for Justicar Trueheart × 1 ?
After nerf this deck has any chance on ladder ? I dont want play cancer deck to reach top, I prefer this kind of cool deck instead.
Thanks a lot
Hi, you don't need justicar to beat aggro with this deck so you can replace it with any early game card. justicar is useful against long control decks where fatigue is a factor. We won't know what the meta will be like until after the expansion but this deck is flexible where a tweek in cards can counter almost any style of decks.
Thanks a lot, I will try to save some dust to see if this deck worth after expansion
Hey, big question! Any tips vs Jade Midrange Shaman? Ladder is full of them as of now, and that's the deck I stuggle most with. Seems it's heavily favored vs Control Warr, as it has the same strenghts as Jade Druid :(
pretty challenging and won't be a good match up. only way to win is get value brawls. They should be easier than jade druid since druids can continuously generate more threats with jade idol. shaman doesn't have that card.
Heh, I've given up laddering with control warrior decks. Went back to Miracle Rogue, as I popped Shaku, the Collector from a pack :(
I'm glad you like it. Yes jade is difficult to win but that's how it goes. all superheroes have their kryptonite. :)
this deck is kinda anti meta 69 % wr, powerful against aggro shits. maybe i can replace cleave for brann, sometimes i need him. but i am good enough with cleave. i like this deck.
cleave is an anti aggro card while brann helps with the control match up. :)
I feel the card draw is not enough in this deck.
Or do I just need to play super greedy with all of my cards?
Against aggro, you don't need card draw as much as you need cards to control the board. i used to run two acolytes but it's too slow against aggro. You place an acolyte, it's easily killed or opponent ignores it and go face. you have no establish board or can contest it with acolyte and you have just taken an extra turn of damage. I used to have slams but again, it doesn't establish board. most of the time, you have to slam a low health minion with 2 health or 1 (#feelsbadman). If you slam a totem golem, can't finish it off. So i added cleave, ooze, and beckoner to help with early board control. You win the long game against aggro if you control early.
Against other control decks, it's usually a fatigue battle (exception reno lock) and you don't want to draw anyway.
In Certain match ups, you need to be greedy with your brawls.
I'm playing really low rank compared to you but so far this deck is keeping up against aggro cancer so far. Sure you need some luck to draw into the right answers but against aggro any removal will do. I will use execute for small minions just as well. Once you get into the late game they are done for anyway, so I will play anything in order to survive longer.
It is true though that most of the time you will need at least one Ravaging Ghoul and enough luck that they won't draw all their weapons.
Hi. i have posted somewhere below or in previous post that there's 10 cards to mulligan for in the starting hand. it includes all 3 mana cards or below with the exception of shield slams, executes, shield blocks (sometimes keep), acolyte of pain. 10/30 cards comes down to somewhere around 90+% to draw at least one of those cards. On average, and unless your opponent gets miracle starting hands every game, you should be able to control the board and then win when they gas out. I didn't have a single lost against aggro last season playing this deck and only one lost this season. One tip is analyzing the situation and not coining out a removal or minion on turn 1 unless your opponent's turn 1 minion is super threatening. Many players misuse the coin early while sometimes its necessary to use it. :)
Looks good. you can try fitting in two ravaging ghouls and one swamp ooze in the deck. it'll help with aggro and have synergy with acolytes and bloodhoofs.
You can try taking out Cairne.
HI. Thanks for your comment. here are some of my thoughts. I'm not a fan of reno + c'thun in a deck. It doesn't have enough synergies to activate shield bearer and twin emperor on a consistent basis. You only have 4 cards there to buff up c'thun and to get bearer/ twin emperor to activate its battlecry. It is not enough to be consistent. With so few buff cards, c'thun also doesn't have a big battlecry effect and it's usually c'thun's battlecry that turns around the game. Most of the time c'thun will not survive a turn for you to attack with it's buff stats.
GL Laddering!
Played this list with Brann. Jades are tough, all-face warrior can still smorc you before you drop your defenses, BUT still a fun and solid deck to play and surprise your opponents. It's draw dependant though, as it doesn't cycle as much as I'd like to, but fitting more cycle cards is tough as the C'thun core will suffer.
I feel like normal control warrior is stronger though because it can fit great cards like Dirty rat, Alley Armorsmiths, Gorehowl, Geddon, Ysera, Rag, Grom and also more cycle, resulting in more consistency, sustain, more surprise threats while still maintaining a strong defensive gameplay. You can also finish some games earlier thanks to Rag and Grommash (both also decent against Sap)
Let's identify what decks you're struggling against that's popular in the meta. If you are facing a lot of jade druids, no types of control warriors will help you there. You will lose 80% of the time.
If you are facing mostly aggro, adding gorehowl, geddon, ysera, rag, grom does not help, they are too slow and clogs up your hand. I have never seen a control warrior running dirty rat. dirty rat is mostly used in reno decks because they can only fit one of each card, therefore mediocre cards can be fitted in. There are much better cards than dirty rat to be added into control warriors. You can fit similar high mana cards in the c'thun deck but only when the meta calls for it. My top 100 legend deck two seasons ago was running baron geddon, harrison and another acolyte. That's because it was safe to do so and it was to counter the vast amount of mid shaman. There are core cards to an archtype but you can tech/sub in cards to adjust to the meta.
Classic control warriors have similar match up percentages as c'thun warrior in aggro match ups. The difference is mirror and against other control decks. C'thun warrior beats control warrior because of c'thun. This deck also beats reno mage and reno lock where control warrior have difficult against. The difference is the burst. Usually, reno warlock jaraxxus and the 6/6 hero power dominates warrior. C'thun can punish this by C'thun-ing and doomcaller for another burst.
GL Laddering.
I face a lot of jade/midrange shamans and without gorehowl and geddon they overrun me - not by turn 5 but much later, so I felt that way. Also, with C'thun list if they run hex, you can rarely effectively bait it - there are not enough threats and they Will save it for your big guy which pops every time you buff it as a friendly reminder for them. Adding tech cards to C'thun deck always felt clunky since you run so many mediocre buffer cards already, but hey. If if works for you, it works, doesn't matter how it feels.
P.s. Don't agree on dirty rat being mediocre. It may have its downside pulling big threats, but you should avoid playing it with no plan anyway. And when it pulls strong battlecry cards or combo pieces, rejoice.
If you are facing a lot of mid shamans, you can try my deck from last season. it's in the opening paragraphs. I hit top 100 multiple times with the list. It also have replays on match ups, especially against mid shaman where I had a 90% win rate. There are plenty of threats to bait out hex. common targets are crazed worshipper (because they can't trade well against him), shieldbearer 6/6, sylvannas, geddon. Also, it doesn't matter if they hex c'thun in that match up. The effect of c'thun's battlecry has been dealt. I rarely expect c'thun to live more than one turn in most match ups, but they can't avoid c'thun's battle cry.
Control decks are likely to lose to all sorts of jade decks (shaman, druid, rogue) so if you are facing them, switch to another deck.
