This deck is made to build up for a one hit KO at round 10, using Alexstrasza and Prophet Velen.
Against Control and Midrange: Always go for Loot Hoarder, Undertaker, Northshire Cleric and Power Word: Shield if you have the coin. If you do not have coin, focus on Undertaker, Northshire Cleric and Power Word: Shield.
Against Zoo and Aggro: Always go for Loot Hoarder, Wild Pyromancer(Great board removal with Coin and Power Word: Shield), Northshire Cleric and Power Word: Shield if you have the coin. If you do not have coin, focus on Wild Pyromancer, Northshire Cleric and Power Word: Shield.
Removal is important and is first priorety at all times. Make sure you save ONE Holy Smite for the final combo. Key targets with your Shadow Word: Death are Ancient of War and Giants. If against an aggro/zoo deck, use the Shadow Word: Death when given the opportunity.
Alexstrasza your opponent at round 9, since it is made to control the early game you should have a fairly clear board and a possibility to deal atleast 1 damage extra next round. At round 10 you go for the Prophet Velen, Mind Blast and Holy Smite.
An interesting combo that works well against handlocks is the potential to save The Coin until round 10. This will let you smash through potential Earthen Ring Farseer heals.
Always save your Auchenai Soulpriest for board removal with Circle of Healing(When against a handlock, you can double the firepower to clear giants the round before KO).
The only replacable legendary is Bloodmage Thalnos. A suitable replacement for him would be another Harvest Golem.

I decided to record a quick match with the Vanilla edition of this deck, check it out here:
First tweak: Exchanged 1 Mind Blast for Bloodmage Thalnos and exchanged Sen'jin Shieldmasta for Defender of Argus.
2nd tweak: Exchanged Shade of Naxxramas for Shadow Word: Death.
ATTENTION!!!
This deck is a work in progress and I am open for all suggestions, so throw them at me.
1 Wild Pyromancer is for me not enough; Wild Pyromancer is not only a great removal card, but also a great card draw mechanic. I personally would replace the two Undertaker with a second Wild Pyromancer and 1 Mass Dispel.
Mass Dispel is exceptional strong when the meta will shift into Deathrattles (and i believe it will). And the additional card is also not bad.
Since you commented on my deck I find it only appropriate I comment on yours. :)
I love the concept here. Especially since it looks really fun!! Even your video from this season makes me want to try it immediately.
My only question I have is on Undertaker. I feel like it is a completely dead draw late in the game and isn't entirely efficient in this deck. I recently watched TidesofTime Naxx preview on TempoStorm and he really changed my perspective on that card.
Oh wow! That replacement strategy is perfect! Both would fit rather nicely.
I really look forward to trying this and I will be sure to let you know my thoughts once I give it a go. Cheers!
Until Naxxramas comes out you can play Lightwarden instead of Undertaker.
And either Earthen Ring Farseer, Shattered Sun Cleric or Temple Enforcer instead of Dark Cultist.
Probably Earthen Ring to keep to his mana curve.
Always found Temple Enforcer abit slow
What do you think of Earthen Ring Farseer over Harvest Golem?
I find its a good with the turn two coin Injured Blademaster then next turn the Earthen Ring Farseer.
and
Combo'ed with Auchenai Soulpriest is a 3 damage nuke.
I havnt tested this myself but a turn 9 Malygos then turn 10 Prophet Velen + Mind Blast + Holy Smite if you can keep Malygos alive :P but it is a 34 damage combo XD
edit: or just run it the other way around if you dont need the high damage turn 9 Prophet Velen + Mind Blast then turn 10 Malygos + Holy Smite for 24 with Velen and 17 without.
+1 Splinter3487
I love the Malygos suggestion!!
I was messing around with a deck like this awhile ago and I feel that 2 mind blasts is very good. It opens the option for either a
Velen + mind blast + coin + mind blast for 20 damage
or a
Holy fire + mind blast + mind blast for 15 damage
Which makes turn 9 alexstrasza a much better play.
It's hard to say when everything is in theory. I don't know how the meta will shift, but I was thinking maybe the harvest golem.
It might not be that great of an idea for a lighstpawn. Especially because, in theory, there will be a lot more silences. That thing gets silenced and it's practically useless.
The shades will not work all that well saddly
In testing its performance was less then spectacular and hear it feels like it was tossed in just for S&G
That could work and would shore up a few places but if what we saw leaked is near true less useful be better off with pwd
Ok there are two flaws in your logic. 1. BGH does nothing to Doomguard. 2. You basing your possible deck on what you will see today rather then what is possible come Naxx.
Forgive my intrusion. It seems somewhat apparent that the shade must be played on turn 3 (or turn 2 w/ coin) to have any significant time to build up. This deck has a large number of low-cost minions that support early game tempo. The Shade is somewhat antithetical to that.
In my opinion, I'd be happy to see a Shadow word: Pain or Death in its place. They should do a better job of keeping you in control long enough to unleash the combo.
The shade would only accomplish that task if it were played on the correct turn and allowed to sit for a little while.
Hey man, I gave this deck a +1 because I LOVE the creativity and the idea of trying something new. Unfortunately, I'm not sure it can competitive at this point. The main reason I say this is because it looks like it's a slightly less effective version of freeze mage. I say it looks less effective because the combo is not a self-contained OTK without the coin (i.e., half the time). If you're in a tight match, you can't just combo to win because you will come up one damage short.
Whenever choosing a competitive deck, there has to be a "why choose this over X." I see two possible reasons, but if there are more I would love to hear them: 1) it has more early game presence so it can win games without the combo "going off" [yay, decent reason]; 2) it isn't susceptible to trap removal [would be a good reason if trap removal were... a lot more used]. That first reason might override my initial concern that the deck can't win on turn 10, I'm not sure--it's definitely enough for me to wish I had the cards to test it out.
I think the deck might work better instead of as a combo deck, the normal midrange priest that people sometimes use with the combo thrown in as an unexpected alternative finisher. Good luck! I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
edit: I just clicked the link to the "vanilla" version and saw that it was exactly what I was talking about. I guess my whole comment can be re-written to say something like, "I don't think the naxx editions are helpful enough; the other version looked stronger IMO."
I meant that one reason why one might use this over a seamingly similar freeze mage deck would be that the freeze mage deck is susceptible to secret removal (b/c it relies on secrets) whereas this would not (b/c priest has no secrets), BUT that reason would be a weak reason since there is near as can tell no secret removal in this game, much less in the meta (though if I played hunter, I'd probably use Flare). I don't know why I said "trap" instead of "secret"... I only played yugioh for like a week when I was a kid.
Interesting deck with a unique twist. When I found Prophet Velen, I brashly disenchanted him. I regret that now that I read about your deck.
PS: I like the idea of using a pair of Injured Blademasters. Should you have no use of combining Circle of Healing with your Auchenai Soulpriest, then they make an excellent bulk to protect you through the early/midgame.
Can't wait to see the deck in action once Naxx arrives. Good luck and thumbs up!
