Heroic Crone Aggro Shaman
Gameplan:
Rush down The Crone using classic aggro shaman cards, such as Tunnel Trogg, Whirling Zap-o-matic, and Flamewreathed Faceless. Earth Elemental and Fire Elemental give you powerful late game tools to sweep the board and deal massive amounts of face damage. Bonus points toEarth Elemental for keeping Dorothee alive! The Crone will typically play Twisting Nether on turn 8 or 9, which ends in your death by her hero power. Use Ancestral Spirit on Dorothee to keep her (and you) alive to prevent a sudden defeat.
Early Game:
Mulligan for the aggro shaman all-stars, Tunnel Trogg and Whirling Zap-o-matic. Keeping any early removal in Crackle, Lava Shock, or Powermace is also recommended. Your early minions are largely sacrificial; they'll do a fair amount of damage but are better at defending Dorothee at this stage in the fight. I used Tunnel Trogg for taunt and Whirling Zap-o-matic with charge for some face damage and early removal. Keep the board however you can, and try to keep Dorothee healthy. Even your hero power is good at keeping Dorothee alive, as all basic totems are given taunt. As the game progresses, you should have dealt a moderate amount of damage to The Crone, but it's not important until later in the fight to pull out burst damage.
Late Game:
As you approach turn 8, expect to play Ancestral Spirit on Dorothee at some point. She MUST survive The Crone's Twisting Nether to avoid defeat. Use your big minions with charge to push out some heavy damage. Don't entirely neglect the board at this point, but do rely on Earth Elemental or taunted Flamewreathed Faceless to soak up damage. The elementals and Flamewreathed Faceless are your primary damage dealers and will likely win after a few turns of going face, preferably with Flametongue Totem and Windfury. It's okay if you don't win before Twisting Nether hits, you can always play more big minions with charge afterwards.
Other Considerations:
You can really use any aggressive cards you're familiar with. Doomhammer and Rockbiter Weapon are also fine choices for this. You're better off avoiding the smaller, granular minions like Abusive Sergeant and Dire Wolf Alpha since The Crone has much more life than your typical ladder opponent.
Sometimes you're Never Lucky and you can't draw Ancestral Spirit by turn 8 and you lose. Sorry, and good luck.
Took me about 4 attempts, needed to figure out you have to go face whenever you can as this bitch has more than two twisting nethers. Also, just disenchanted the powermace so used axe instead.
Crone whole deck & remaining hand must turn into Twisted Nether minute she draw it/plays the first one. She played on finally on T10, spirit saved Doro, next turn, she played a 2nd one, once again I had dropped another Spirit, and then again another, and game over. 1st one she played had 2 cards in hand, I don't for one second believe computer got lucky and top decked a 3rd one.
Amazing deck! I rarely get heroics on the first try but I did on this one. Got her on my turn 7. Worked out great. :)
My first attempt at this boss was also with a shaman wit Ancestral Spirit and the new Moat Lurker. However, I bumped into 3 Twisting Nethers in a row on turn 8, 9 an 10. I haven't tried since with shaman since I assumed that the boss is actually meant to be killed before turn 8. I switched to Inner Fire priest and downed her after two tries of fine tuning.
In any case, my point is that I do not think it feasible to keep on playing after turn 9, unless I have been very unlucky to run into three Twisting Nethers. I cannot believe that to be pure coincidence though.
I defeated her on about turn 12 my first time before refining the decklist and she even only played one Twisting Nether on turn 9. While she isn't guaranteed to have Twisting Nether turns 8+, I think she just has a lot of them in her deck (it may even be why it seems like she has a bunch of dead cards in hand sometimes). It's unfortunate that it happened to you, but the current deck generally wins before turn 9 for me. I would agree that the Inner Fire priest combo is probably more consistent, since it only takes a few cards and a few turns to win.
Won on the first go. I was planning on doing the fight without looking up any decks, and was doing pretty well... until she hit me with Twisting Nether. That was certainly a "what the fudge..." moment.
