Why hello there. I’m backspace – I hit rank #1 on 5/31 on the last day and finished #2 last season with this aggro rogue deck (listed below) centered around coldlight oracle.
Towards the end of Season 2, I ran into a couple of aggro rogue variants on the ladder and tried to piece together a list. I noticed that their decks were very explosive, but ran out of gas quickly – or were sometimes inconsistent to get started. I wanted to optimize the list, and once I decided to build the deck around Coldlight Oracle, the deck performed absolutely amazingly for me.
Reasons to play the deck: It’s incredibly fun! The synergy with Coldlight + Shadowstep + Mukla or the explosive amount of damage you can produce with any charge minion makes for really exciting games. It also DESTROYS Miracle Rogue and Giants.
Bad matchups: Zoo – this is actually a ridiculously difficult matchup. Druid - heavy taunt based druid decks can be very tough as well, but winnable.
General strategy: In almost every matchup, you need to mulligan into early board presence (argent squire, leper gnome, loot hoarder, mukla… when you have coin, you can look for Defias Ringleader and SI:7 as well). You should NEVER mulligan coldlight oracle (but don’t keep 2). Your primary concern in most games is their life total rather than the state of the board. You will almost always end games with explosive turns featuring shadowstep with arcane golem / leeroy, or even deckhand (ha HA!) and cold blood. Pay attention to how much damage you have available in hand at all times.
I will be streaming soon (hopefully tomorrow - follow and tune in!), and of course AMA here.

#1 on 5/31 thanks for the help Caleb
I do not see cold light being good in lower ranks, who wants to give a miracle rogue cards, or anyone cards for that matter. I have faced this deck and wrecked it withConceited rogue because the dumby gave me 4 cards.
Ok Coldlight Oracle + Youthful Brewmaster = Better The Youthful Brewmaster can be used in other areas aswell. It is very versatile with this deck, just tested it, it is much better and also King Mukla why? Very unnecessary as I said this will never survive past rank 8 maybe stop winning around rank 10 to be worth it. I mean you have 2 Leaper Gnome, what rogue uses this, not to be mean but why. Anyway I am posting my version of this, well posting ideas.
Guide:
Coldlight Oracle + Youthful Brewmaster or Youthful Brewmaster + Something Viable.
Instead of Mukla, Use Blood Knight or Hogger, Hogger is Nice when used with Conceal Your looking at some mad Taunts and not easy to remove. Now If you prefer, replace him with Blood Knight it is a iffy card but even if you only kill 1 Shield, it is still a great 3 drop. Also when fighting Paladins I have buffed this card to 18/18 on 4.
Big Game Hunter is also nice King MuklaReplacement
Now back to the low mana cards of doom, there are way to fucking many. Squire, amazing 1 drop, keep it but Leper Gnome is horrible in a rogue deck period. Put in another Defias Ringleader if you must or Take out 1 sap and add Betrayal, this will deal with druid cards very nicely. Now to Arcane Golem, but if you give the wrong class to much extra mana like a druid your fucked.
Take out Faerie Dragon and put in Acidic Swamp Ooze use to fit into the current meta against Warriors, Paladins and other rogues. Be smart, this entire deck idea is amazing but I am a Math Based Deck Builder and the math in this deck has some flaws.
If you have Nat Pagle as a legend card then I recommend it over both loot hoarder X2 because your only going to get 2 cards anyway and well you could get more if you protect him and get more cards but this is just a thought is all.
THESE ARE JUST IDEAS IS ALL! GIVING YOUR ENEMIES CARDS IS A BAD IDEA AND CAN BACKFIRE FAST
South Sea Deckhand + Cold Blood is becoming very popular with rogues now days. It is a crazy cheap Leeroy and Honestly why have the Arcane Golems, Southsea Deckhand+ Cold Blood X2 = 12 Damage Plus Leeroy Jenkins [/card][card] Conceal, Then Leeroy Jenkins X2 = 12 More Damage Or If possibleLeeroy Jenkins + Cold Blood Hit. Conceal + Leeroy [/card]+ [card]Cold Blood = 20 Damage So In theory the Coldlight Oracle could be removed for some control onthe board maybe some taunts to protect certain things.
Not that the card choices are perfect, but I think getting to #1 legend on the final day of the season with this deck is enough to show how promising it can be if played well. And the fact that backspace has finished 3rd, 12th, and 2nd for the last 3 seasons would suggest that he has a pretty good understanding of the game, so I don't think he has completely missed the boat here.
I know you're only offering your opinions, but my point is that you can't change so many cards (particularly key cards to the deck with ones that are not functionally similar) without having it be a completely different deck. I've played the aggro rogue builds that he says he ran into along with playing his list, and just the addition of oracle alone is a stroke of brilliance that brings the deck to a whole new level, and the deck strategy changes enough to think of it as a different deck entirely in my opinion. I do think small changes like Faerie Dragon for Acidic Swamp Ooze are worth trying out and could definitely be improvements depending on the meta, but I don't think you can start cutting leper gnomes and arcane golems while maintaining the integrity of the deck.
Also I think Mukla is very irreplacable in this deck.
Alright so your saying if you never EVER, I mean never EVER draw mukla during a game you will loose? Baddie alert.
You are talking rubbish plz stop talking, coldlight oracle and leper gnome are what makes this deck win, currently rank 2 with this =)
Alright so 4 Damage, 8 in good cases via Leper and 4 extra cards Win. Not sure, I tried it, it is fine, sure I can win with this deck but Leper did not win it for me
Give a druid 2 free mana crystals, game over son.
uzeonie84: The main purpose of the Oracle is to not only provide you with cards, but to improve the matchup vs decks like Handlock. Coldlight oracle, either alone or (especially) with shadowstep and/or leeroy can completely cripple handlock's chances vs you. I believe it is one of the main cards, if not THE main card, of this deck.
Blood Knight because everyone uses argent squires if you draw him, just wait 3 turns and let them get 6 damage on you to make that 9/9
How does the deck do against control warrior? I haven't played against it yet, winning a lot right now. Although you're right, zoo is impossible :(
I just demolished Garrosh and his legendary team ;)
