36-11 in stream 21/06/2016, getting rank 17 legend.
This is a video from a friend playing this deck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRDmC6BCekw
jungle panther is the best i suppose but druid of the flame is just so powerful when combined with mark of y'Shaarj
It's a common card, 40 dust, worth crafting for this deck. Fandral would usually be the sticking point, although he's becoming more and more common to see. I mean... just spent the 40 dust, it's one pack.
No it is from BRM.
Went from Rank 18 to 10 with only 2 loss. Now i am suddenly struggling a lot against any type of control (Warri/Mage mostly), Shaman and Hunter are like 50/50.
Good deck for climbing imo, not good to get from 10 to Legend
This deck is aimed towards tempo and definitely is more favoured against super-aggro decks. A varient of this kind of deck which tilts more towards control is the Yogg edition, which I'd recommend switching to if you're having a lot of trouble against control warrior/mage.
Fandral Staghelm is irreplaceable, for any and all that are asking. Without Fandral you can't generate enough value on things like Raven Idol. This deck is meant to go face often and trade efficiently. I've only lost 1 game so far. I can see where it wouldn't be super awesome at the very top, but come on, Fandral is too much fun to give up on because of opponents having all the right clears!
Here is Thijs stream, it may provide some valuable tips on how to play the deck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLgLd5PqWYg
Unexpected swing from stalling at 4 health, to opponent conceding at full health.
Onyxia -> Wisps - > Savage Roar = Win.
Neither Onyxia or wisps are in this deck?? Unless you somehow got them both from Fandral and the 1 Raven Idol...
He's just referring to the 1/1s you get from Onyxia as Wisps. He presumably got just Onyxia off idol.
Works perfect on lower ranks.
Went 8-1.
Although horrible matchup against C'thun warrior....
Literally can't get past rank 18 with this. All I'm missing is one copy of living roots. This deck's win condition, to get a bunch of stuff on the board then savage roar, is outclassed by literally every other deck. The minions are bad and have little effect.
I don't want to be mean and if i'm being then i'm sorry, but maybe you're just playing it wrong? I played this deck from rank 25 to rank 15 easily and then i started having some problems against Mages/Warriors, but i don't think it would be too hard to get out of rank 18 with it. Also, a tip that may help with card draw and removal of small + big minions, try running one Azure Drake and one Mulch instead of the Mounted Raptors, i think it's very good.
And about the win condition, you don't really have to flood the board, if you can Innervate a Savage Combatant turn 1 or 2 and then play some other stuff, you can win very quickly and the Savage Roars/Mark of Y'Shaarj are just there to help you get lethal a few turns ahead or draw some cards, it's all about the synergy. Keep in mind that you should try going face a lot of the time because of the 2 swipes and other cards that can damage face and help you win :)
It dropped down to rank 19 one star. Lol. I'm thinking you just got a lucky streak, because any zoo/shaman/warrior deck (90% of the ladder) wins. Maybe it's good in legend where people stopped playing aggro.
This isn't combo Druid. Savage Roar is in this deck because it is absurd value, not because it is a win condition. If your opponent has a 3/2 on board and you have just one medium sized minion at turn 3/4, Savage Roar is your best option. You clear the 3/2, deal 5 or so damage to face, and have board control for you next turn. Don't save Fandral for a crazy turn where you get an absurd amount of value, Raven Idol alone is amazing. Fandral is a high priority removal at only 4 mana, that in and of itself is good value.
I think you're wrong on that point. The lower ranks have their own meta. I would say aggro Hunter or Zoolock are probably the quickest ways to trudge through those. That's not to say this deck wont work. But not all decks that work in legend work outside legend.
Edit: I also don't see how this deck can counter Shaman in its current state.
I went from rank 7 to rank 10 with this deck.
It's bad. Bad against everthing.
Control just clears your board multiple times and you lose.
Aggro shaman has more powerful minions to trade, Zoo warlock has more cheaper ways to trade his board as well.
Midrange hunter kills you on turn 8 with call of the wild.
I won only once against n'zot priest. But it doesn't even count because priest is a rubbish.
And lastly this deck is struggle from lack of draw options. You will end up topdecking on turn 7 with empty board.
So sad.
I think mulliganing for Finley and Roots is absolutely a must, the deck is at a severe disadvantage without a better hero power, and getting early board control is crucial. I found myself holding onto cards and playing around removal to the point that I wasn't having the issues you are talking about, in clearing or with card advantage.
I had the same issue about the card draw + the inefficient board clear of Druid, so i tried running one Azure Drake and Mulch instead of Mounted Raptor, worked pretty well, maybe you should try it?
Deck works pretty nice. I enjoy playing it very much :) Just using it for unraked for quests so far, but made it 7:0.
I lack Fandral and second Savage Combatant. Replaced with Tomb Spider and Huge Toad. Tomb Spider often gives me the second Savage or situational cards, which feels very good. Toad is just another 2-drop and target for Mark of Y'Shaar.
Thanks for this Deck <3
Went from rank 8 to rank 10... if you lose board control you lose the game. Stupid deck
