This deck isn't that great, especially now that everyone is cookie cuttering it. Ranked players know this deck inside and out and has become super predictable and many decks now to counter it. The deck i made and posted in here 30 min ago, hard counters this and is completely new (no cookie cutter) 12-0 currently rank 5-3. Destruction Warlock.
After enough testing, I'm going to put this deck on the back burner for a while. The above form has zero ability to get around large taunts except making horrible trades. 53 games tonight, over 30% of the decks faced were mirror (roughly 50% win rate) or Hand Lock (0 wins). Beats Control Warrior, coin-flip against Miracle Rogue, coin-flip against Ramp Druid, auto-loss against Hand Lock (either they drop 8/8 taunts turn 5 if you push, wipe the board if you don't) - and that's 39 of the 53 decks I was facing. Since I'm lacking the resources to craft either legendary for the updated deck, I'm simply going to hold off testing this version of Zoo until the meta changes.
Not only the inability to get rid of taunts, but lack of proper removal spells if you can't overwhelm your opponent with board pressure by turns 4-5, from then on it's hard to compensate with constant 1s and 2 drops mid game on.
when I play this deck, i found i really needed to look at the whole situation to decide if i should trade or go for face. This deck can create the sort of situation where taking enemy hero down from 25-15 can be a lot more important than doing a few trades can gaining board control (against a drood with a yeti on the field when i have 4 smaller minions, for example). other times, gaining board control was much more important (against a aggro hunter with only a few more cards, for example). As my understanding of these situations improved, i found my winrate improved from about 30% too 70% from rank 12-6
lol
i beat a legend mage and a legend shaman on my 1st try. I had to alter the deck a bit since i did not have all the cards here.I put 1 Sunfury Protector instead of 2nd Defender of Argus, Leeroy Jenkins instead of 2nd Doomguard, 2 Elven Archer for 2 Mortal Coil, 1 Arcane Golem + 2 Leper Gnome'cuz no Scarlet Crusader and only 1 Shieldbearer.
You cant change anything with Leeroy. Reynad already said that this deck is not a suicide deck. Thats why you need tought and low mana minions. Leeroy is a total suicide minion.
change 1x doomguard for Leroy J
Well, I won 3/10 matches with this deck today, so I'm willing to say it's outdated, especially since most people seem to be using control these days.
my deck similar to this and gained ten ranks going 24/12, could be better, but i havent run into many problems
Got smashed every time I used this deck
It's an ok deck. I rly like the power overwhelmings though.
Mine is better :P
This deck is pretty powerful, I have managed to win a lot with it, I do have a question however, why doesn't this deck run Leeroy Jenkins? Perhaps in place of an Argent Commander? I am going to play test this deck with Leeroy and see how it runs, but if someone's already done it and can tell me why not that might save me some time.
Thanks.
maybe because Leeroy costs more than the whole deck?
I don't think thats the reason, this deck was made by Reynad and I'm sure he had access to Leeroy. It's not a budget deck.
Makes sense, thank you.
I meant crafting cost
Used exactly this, later added a Black Knight in it and got me from 22 to 10 in one afternoon while losing only two matches (against a frickn lucky oldschool Mage and an even luckier face Hunter).
Handlock counters this very well! 60-75% winrate I would say thanks to shadow flame and hellfire. Too bad Handlock sucks balls vs hunters...
is this version outdated?
