Shaman has always been a great class to play on a budget thanks to its powerful free cards. It got even better if you have the League of Explorers adventure! Thanks to a few crazy new cards that unlocked cool new mech and battlecry synergies, this Shaman deck is a perfect choice for beginners seeking fireworks and wins.
I've been struggling to construct a solid Shaman deck that I enjoyed aesthetically and just a deck that worked at all. I finally gave up and searched online for any inspiration. I ended up taking your entire list and it's been doing really well for me ( currently at low ranks ~ sadness )! Thanks for the list. Look forward to more!
Update: Made some adjustments such as adding an Antique Healbot, Lightning Storm and a few other cards that I felt the deck needed. Winning with V-07-TR-0N ( created by Mimiron's Head ) discovered from a Gorillabot A-3 is so damn satisfying!
Awesome to hear. I always recommend people tune decks to their own preferences and play-styles, and it sounds like your changes are awesome!
I'm sorry the deck isn't working out for you. Shaman can have card draw problems in general, so I'm not too surprised by that. Perhaps adding an Ancestral Knowledge or even two could help. It could also be that you're not playing quite aggressively enough in regards to mulligans or going face vs. trading.
There's also the chance that the deck just isn't for you, which is unfortunate, but does happen sometimes. Not every deck fits every person's play-style or preferences.
this deck is really fun to play at low ranks
Really happy that you're enjoying it!
Nice deck here - just won 3 games in a row with it :-) You mention upgrading a Warlord with Dr. Boom in the video. What other cards (not just legendaries) do you suggest upgrading the deck with?
Thanks for the kind words!
In regards to upgrades, please know that I play-tested this deck in the current form to fit the budget. I have some ideas, but the following recommendations are theory-crafting at best, and I can't vouch how well they synergize with the deck.
I think you could try a Clockwork Knight in place of the other Frostwolf Warlord, as it has both mech and battlecry synergies, and still benefits a sticky board, but isn't quite as conditional as Frostwolf Warlord. I'd also be willing to give Enhance-o-Mechano a shot over one of the Jeweled Scarabs. I would also consider Powermaces over one Acidic Swamp Ooze and one Hex.
Thanks for the tips! I've crafted a deck with some of the upgrades you mention, along with Emperor Thaurissan - I have yet to see how well it works out. I've always found Enhance-o-Mechano a solid choice, as I often play decks with lots of minions on the board.
What hero power are u aiming for with Sir Finley?
If you play him early, you probably want to go for the highest "value" hero power, meaning Warlock for card draw or Paladin to summon dudes. If those aren't available, going for hero powers that offer some form of board control is best (Mage, Druid, Rogue), basically anything that allows you to directly influence the board and preserve your minions. Against hyper-aggressive decks, you may also consider taking a defensive hero power like Warrior or Priest.
If you play him late, you'll have to make a more complicated decision. Sometimes just picking the hero power that's best for a single turn could make the difference in winning and losing (e.g., taking Mage to ping off an 8/1 giant that turn). Other time you'll have to select the hero power that advances your cause (e.g., if they're at low health, taking Hunter to finish them off quicker, or taking Warrior to keep you alive through a drawn out battle).
So there's no simple answer, but hopefully that helps you think about it more concretely!
Cheers mate, amazing deck btw :D
Thanks!
