Also, I do not consider myself to be a great mill rogue player but I have played it quite a lot and has seen some succes. And though this is a deck that requires a lot of practice I do recommend trying it out because it is extremely satisfying when you succesfully mill a player. :D
For those of you who are thinking of making this deck, DO IT!
I have played Hearthstone for one and a half years and this is by far the most fun deck I ever played. It is good enough to get you to the high ranks around 5 and even legend. It might not be the best deck to reach legend but it is a really fun journey.
Succesfully milling your opponent, having the perfect cards in hand or vanishing your entire opponents board back to his hand is an amazing feeling of succes and joy.
Wanna play this deck, DO SO!
- A fun way to reach legend
This deck is fun BUT A SHIT.
If you have no luck and Oracle achieves avoiding you, it's IMPOSSIBLE to win against any not-dumb-person.
A good deck can't depend on one single card pattern, even if there is plenty of drawing on that deck.
Reach Legend? hahaha. I'd become King of the World and own the whole planet first
is there something to replace second Preparation ? only card missing and Bloodmage Thalnos
How important is Bloodmage Thalnos in this deck? Any replacements?
I think it can be replaced for Kobold Geomancer or Loot Hoarder, maby Shiv
Casual v. himself on a phone and computer.
if he was playin himself he cudnt win only draw
King Mukla?
I used this deck for four games at Rank 9 to 7.:
1. A Face Hunter. He played a nothing turn one. Turn two he played a Leper Gnome and a Worgen Infiltrator. I play a Deathlord. He stares at his screen for about 45-60 seconds, then concedes. Not too satisfying, but still a victory. 1-0.
2. A Control Priest. He played amazingly on curve, and I thought I couldn't win. My friend spectated me for his quest, I knew I couldn't let him down. My mind was a calculator at that point, calculating chances to draw the next Coldlight Oracle and his potential damage. I Vanished very efficiently, and Sap the same. I should have Gang Up'd an Antique Healbot for my second Gang Up but I was greedy and did two Coldlight Oracles. This was a very close game, and if I misplayed one bit I would have lost. I literally won with 1 HP. This is not an exaggeration. One of the most satisfying victories i've ever had. 2-0.
3. Mid-Range hunter. My worst enemy. He played perfectly on curve, I played a Dark Iron Skulker(I techd one in instead of the second Azure Drake. It works extremely well against Aggro..) He flooded the board next turn too. I got greedy and milled him a bit instead of healing. He beat me. I misplayed, it was my fault not the deck's. Understandable loss, and was close. I predicted i'd lose from my starting hand anyways. 2-1.
4. Hand Lock. "Oh no!" I thought, as he tapped on turn two. "My mill will help his Twilight Drakes and Mountain Giants! I should concede now!" Then I drew Vanish and it hit me. My plan was, he plays all his big guys. I mill him with a Coldlight Oracle and a Shadowstep back to the Coldlight Oracle. He will then have 10 cards, plus have overdrawn one. I will then Vanish and destroy his whole field! The plan was flawless. I executed it perfectly. He overdrew his Mountain Giant. He plays his other one, and a Twilight Drake and throws a Defender of Argus in between them. "Easy." I thought. I played another Coldlight Oracle and then Vanish killing two of the cards and throwing the Mountain Giant back to his hand. He is now out of cards in his deck, I pretty much spam Coldlight Oracles and mill him, all the while him spamming "Well Played." I satisfying respond with "Well Played." because I am not a douchebag face hunter or aggro pally. THIS is the most satisfying win I have ever had. 3-1.
I forgot to mention, I also added Lorewalker Cho to the deck instead of Youthful Brewmaster and it has worked amazingly. I usually give them a card that is useless to them like Backstab or useful to me like Vanish. It is a great addition and I very much recommend it.
Thanks for your variation on the deck. I recommend it to anyone who has the cards.
I don't know if this is serious or not. I'll just respond to it as if is: Thank you, that compliment means more to me than you think.
I have to agree, that was a nice read. Certainly makes me want to check out the deck.
Thanks buddy, you put a smile on my face.
Beneath the Grounds ?
Beneath the grounds is bad for mill because when their hand size is full the ambush card gets burned and doesn't force them to draw another card. So, effectively, you just added cards to their deck and nullified your own gang-up, threatening yourself with fatiguing first. Especially with Brann mill you're really going to pick up the drawing pace later in the game. Sometimes I even burn my own cards when I I have everything I need to push for lethal.
Moreover, if they do draw an ambush, the minion can screw up your hand if you need to do a vanish play.
All this is not even considering that beneath the grounds is generally a horrible card that has no effect on the board and is very unreliable due to RNG. It's a REALLY COOL IDEA for a card, but in practice the card text really is "spend 3 mana, do nothing as your opponent murders your face".
it DOES force them to draw another card, BtG basically doesn't add any cards to their deck. Take a look Ambush! It's perfect for Mill, but people didn't even gave a look at this card.
You don't understand. The whole reason Mill Rogue works is that Gang Up increases your deck size to 36. Your opponent only has 30 cards, so you end up 6 cards up on him, which is 21 damage to him with coldlights. Chances are at the end of the game that you're close to dying since your deck has no pressure. You need to keep your card advantage at all costs. What Beneath the Grounds does is add cards to your opponent's deck. When your opponent draws them normally that's fine (though the Nerubians have anti-synergy with Vanish), but when you mill the Ambushes they don't make your opponent draw an extra card. If you mill 3 Ambushes, your opponent basically has 33 cards in his deck. This completely contradicts your whole game plan; you generally don't win by attacking with minions, you win with fatigue damage. Adding Ambushes to your opponent's deck delays you winning by a lot.
Trust me, people have looked at this card. It is not good in Mill Rogue.
