Visual guide in the making HYPE!
I have played Druid a lot around, 1k Ranked wins. I would say and I have always liked Token more than anything. In this list it combines the consistency of Midrange Druid with the strong Starts of token. This deck list is a mix between Token and Midrange. With the additio of the TGT low drops included into Midrange it only seems right to make the deck even faster. In TGT Druid received tools that just seem to round out the deck and make it strongest it has ever been. I hit Rank 1 Legend on the 28th of August [S17] which is 3 days after I started ranking from Rank 20 to Legend on the release of TGT, information about that can be found here.
This isn't a "Token Deck" or anything of that matter. Your goal with this deck is not to just summon a board of 1/1's with Violet Teacher, this deck plays a lot like a Midrange druid, but instead focuses more on strong starts and anti aggro tools. Violet Teacher's potential value against Aggro decks is enough to win games, but it is not the focus of the deck. That is why this deck has been named Hybrid Druid because it removes the inconsistencies of Token Druid and replaces them with strong stable Midrange Druid threats.
Living Roots - This is one of the best cards in the expansion. It is the best turn 1 against aggro. It can kill any 1 or 2 drop with turn 2 hero power. Always keep against aggro.
Darnassus Aspirant - Such an amazing must remove minion against control deck, this chnages the game completly when you play against Druid because now every deck must keep their Fiery War Axe, Frostbolt, Darkbomb etc against Druid. Aspirant is also a stable 2/3 against aggro. This lets you run no shade because you can often ramp to 4 mana with this, innervate or wild growth.
1x Force of Nature - With little draw power you cant have clunky combo pieces clogging your draws. Also you rarely need to use this to win.
Violet Teacher - Just such a powerful value engine against aggro. As well as a strong threating 4 drop to drop on curve.
WIP Match ups. Rough work for Guide
Warlock - Easy
Keep: Innervate, Living Roots, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant, Keeper of the Grove, Swipe.
Tips: Keep 4 drop if you can curve into it. Only keep Wrath
Gameplan: Making Tokens with Violet Teacher against zoo is always a strong play because they will have to trade into them. Trying to threaten Savage Roar lethal against Handlock is strong. Never let Handlock play Molten Giants, taunt them and play Healbot. Always try to play Living Roots turn 1. Value face damage against Zoo highly, they have to tap every turn and that will eventually put them into combo range if you ever lose on board.
Paladin - Moderate
Keep: Innervate, Living Roots, Darnassus Aspirant, Swipe.
Tips: Keep 4 drop if you can curve into it (Keeper of the Grove, Violent teacher especially). Only keep Wild growth if you can take time to play it; If you have a turn 1 play like Living Roots.
Gameplan: It will most often be secret Paladin in which you are unfavored , in that case making tokens will most often end the game. Beware of turn 6 Mysterious Challenger.
Shaman - Easy
Keep Innervate, Living Roots, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant, Keeper of the Grove.
Tips: Keep a Swipe if your hand is already good.
Gameplan: You deck is just stronger than theirs. Your cards are more effiecnt, and you can often combo them on turn 9.
Druid - Moderate
Gameplan:
"THIS IS REYNAD'S DECK I SAW HIM STREAM AND U DIDNT STREAM SO HE MADE IT AND UR TAKING CREDIT FOR IT"
This is the first deck i played after TGT was released on EU Legend, I opened 50 laggy packs and then played minutes after. Info here.
Reynad didnt hit #1 Legend and I did.
This is just the list I uploaded to Hearthpwn. This list in my client is different the list I had when I hit #1 was different. This is a base list, no tech at all.
No where am I claiming i invented this deck.
This deck is like 5 cards off from the Pre TGT Token Druid, exuding TGT cards.

Built it. Love it. So much fun to play, and I've seen so many more crazy games using this deck than I have with any other by far. It just attracts insanity somehow, so much fun. Thanks for posting this man.
One of the worst decks out there. Completely worthless against agro.
oh man, i killed tons of hunters by turn 7 with this deck. maybe u just mulligan wrong or something
So, if you don't get Darnassus, Living Roots, or Innervate + a 4 drop you seem pretty screwed.
Well, not that what Heaviest Flow said is necessarily true (though it might be!), but your two examples are not the same.
What you're saying: If Hunter gets 3 certain cards out of a deck of 30, he's screwed.
What he's saying: If Druid DOESN'T get 2 out of 4 cards in a deck of 30, he's screwed.
The odds of him not getting those cards are MUCH higher than the odds of you getting all three of yours.
Long story short: The examples are polar opposites. I'd much rather take my chances with the hunter, given these examples.
Really love this deck ! I replaced 1x Ancient of lore ( because i dont have 2nd ) and i added Ysera. With this deck i ranked from rank 14 to 6 for 2 days !
I did the same change for the same reason.
So far Ysera is doing great in this deck but I've only played a couple of unranked matches. I'm a F2P player and usually playing Warlock. I didn't have to craft anything for this, except that AoL that I replaced. We'll see, I might continue with Ysera or replace with an AoL if I really get into the ranked mode with this deck.
Midrange druid is so much better than this clown 'legend' deck.
I am struggling against warrior in general. I never seem to have an answer to armorsmith so the warrior can easily armor out of my burst range. Also not drawing lore seems to be auto lose against warrior while drawing lore only equalizes the cards a bit. I still get outvalued in the end or bursted down by patron warrior. Overall, I don't think I've been able to beat any warriors at all.
Looks awesome. Can't wait to see the visual guide!
No Doom, no deck?
I am a experienced druid player and really liked this deck! It is a lot faster then what i am used to, but i do very well against most matchups.. Except Patron warrior, they totally destroy me every time, got any tips against them? And im not talking about them 30->0 me either, there are so many minions with below 3 attack so they dont need perfect combo's to snowball the board out of controll.
Any tips are appreciated.
I'm having the same issues against warriors in general. Harrison Jones is the only change that seems to make a difference.
All you need is luck!
When I play this deck against patron warrior( -1 violet +1 Belcher),
You have to be super aggressive and try to beat your opponents at T7-9
Otherwise he'll combo you up easily...
Hoping for the best and relying on luck is no plan...
FROM rank 8-6, starfall have helped alot against secret pally and other aggro decks, especially if u have azure drake on the field.
-1 savage roar
+1 starfall for aggro
http://prntscr.com/8e9vfq .... pretty good winrate from rank 20 to rank 10 .... i played some other decks in there like control paladin and even some aggro paladin... but mainly this.... havent started the rank 10 climb yet tho.... but prob gonna progress with control pally cause.... eboladins are everywhere
PS i swapped out one teacher for a chillwind yeti.... just cause its still sticky.... and i usually get the value out of one teacher
There are no Shades here because with Darnassus Aspirant, you often skip turn 3, so all you need are 4 drops ;)
Hey I am grateful for the deck tech here! Ive played magic the gatheing competetively for years and just got into hearthstone saved all my dust for post TGT decks and crafted this beauty for my first competetive deck! I have a couple of questions and concerns because i love druid atm and am very determined to reach legend with this deck(currently rank 12).
Is this deck top tier?
Which match-up am i the beat down player where i just ignore there creatures and go face? I understand theres matchups where you have to clear and go face to get them in the combo range but what i mean is vs control or patron warrior do i just go face??? it might be a vague question but im stumped.
Note: Secret paladin is tearing me apart! which is annoying
Why are so many druid playing shade of naxxramus?
I just want to get a firm grasp on everything i love the violet teachers in the way she can set up great kills with savage roar if you play correctly and plan ahead which is great.
and yeah much appreciated if i could get some feedback for high level of play or when i klnow when this deck is not good for the meta
jjtops
edit im an idiot and cant SPELL
Do you want to innervate out your violet teachers, when your mulligan has no darnasses aspirant or wild growth?
