Visual guide in the making HYPE!
I have played Druid a lot around, 1k Ranked wins. I would say and I have always liked Token more than anything. In this list it combines the consistency of Midrange Druid with the strong Starts of token. This deck list is a mix between Token and Midrange. With the additio of the TGT low drops included into Midrange it only seems right to make the deck even faster. In TGT Druid received tools that just seem to round out the deck and make it strongest it has ever been. I hit Rank 1 Legend on the 28th of August [S17] which is 3 days after I started ranking from Rank 20 to Legend on the release of TGT, information about that can be found here.
This isn't a "Token Deck" or anything of that matter. Your goal with this deck is not to just summon a board of 1/1's with Violet Teacher, this deck plays a lot like a Midrange druid, but instead focuses more on strong starts and anti aggro tools. Violet Teacher's potential value against Aggro decks is enough to win games, but it is not the focus of the deck. That is why this deck has been named Hybrid Druid because it removes the inconsistencies of Token Druid and replaces them with strong stable Midrange Druid threats.
Living Roots - This is one of the best cards in the expansion. It is the best turn 1 against aggro. It can kill any 1 or 2 drop with turn 2 hero power. Always keep against aggro.
Darnassus Aspirant - Such an amazing must remove minion against control deck, this chnages the game completly when you play against Druid because now every deck must keep their Fiery War Axe, Frostbolt, Darkbomb etc against Druid. Aspirant is also a stable 2/3 against aggro. This lets you run no shade because you can often ramp to 4 mana with this, innervate or wild growth.
1x Force of Nature - With little draw power you cant have clunky combo pieces clogging your draws. Also you rarely need to use this to win.
Violet Teacher - Just such a powerful value engine against aggro. As well as a strong threating 4 drop to drop on curve.
WIP Match ups. Rough work for Guide
Warlock - Easy
Keep: Innervate, Living Roots, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant, Keeper of the Grove, Swipe.
Tips: Keep 4 drop if you can curve into it. Only keep Wrath
Gameplan: Making Tokens with Violet Teacher against zoo is always a strong play because they will have to trade into them. Trying to threaten Savage Roar lethal against Handlock is strong. Never let Handlock play Molten Giants, taunt them and play Healbot. Always try to play Living Roots turn 1. Value face damage against Zoo highly, they have to tap every turn and that will eventually put them into combo range if you ever lose on board.
Paladin - Moderate
Keep: Innervate, Living Roots, Darnassus Aspirant, Swipe.
Tips: Keep 4 drop if you can curve into it (Keeper of the Grove, Violent teacher especially). Only keep Wild growth if you can take time to play it; If you have a turn 1 play like Living Roots.
Gameplan: It will most often be secret Paladin in which you are unfavored , in that case making tokens will most often end the game. Beware of turn 6 Mysterious Challenger.
Shaman - Easy
Keep Innervate, Living Roots, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant, Keeper of the Grove.
Tips: Keep a Swipe if your hand is already good.
Gameplan: You deck is just stronger than theirs. Your cards are more effiecnt, and you can often combo them on turn 9.
Druid - Moderate
Gameplan:
"THIS IS REYNAD'S DECK I SAW HIM STREAM AND U DIDNT STREAM SO HE MADE IT AND UR TAKING CREDIT FOR IT"
This is the first deck i played after TGT was released on EU Legend, I opened 50 laggy packs and then played minutes after. Info here.
Reynad didnt hit #1 Legend and I did.
This is just the list I uploaded to Hearthpwn. This list in my client is different the list I had when I hit #1 was different. This is a base list, no tech at all.
No where am I claiming i invented this deck.
This deck is like 5 cards off from the Pre TGT Token Druid, exuding TGT cards.

Heyho!
I don't have any Ancient of Lore.
Can u give me some budget replacements? (Also no Dust to craft them :/ )
Maybe one Healing Touch and one Ironbark Protector?
Or something like Loatheb?
Cant really replace them man
I dusted now some cards to craft this too.
Wanna play more druid in the future and i think it was a good choice.
Thanks for your answer.
Will u expand the guide?
I really like this deck. The only times I have lost was one terrible draw against an aggro hunter and the other couple times were tactical errors on my part. Are there certain cards you should always try and mulligan for? I go for the extra mana crystals and living roots, any other suggestions?
I would love a guide :D
Well you now have 6 ways on turn 2 to set up a 4 drop (Aspirant Wild growth innervate) so running multiply 4 drops is just logical. Also the Wings of Wax list IMO is just bad. It falls subject to the same problems as token did before TGT; not enough value per card, that is why midrange is always better.
I really feel like Shades are fine, but you could also just play a aspirant then a 4 drop then have 4 mana again(what usually happens) on the following turn so it makes having multiple for 4 drops a lot better. because a 4 drop is always more impactful than a shade on the turn after it is played. Basically this deck is a lot faster so shades don't feel great.
This is what makes my list Hybrid because it is not the traditional token that ran creepers and other stuff like imp master.
This deck is a lot more consistent.
Powerhouse deck, lots of fun!
However, I have trouble with face hunters if I don't get Living Roots, PoW, or Swipe in opening hand. Also, Handlock is very tough. Any tech suggestions?
Agree completely that a correct Mulligan is key. I'm not as experienced with Druid, would appreciate a Mulligan Guide or at least some general selections.
Thanks!
Handlock should be pretty easy, When I was playing today I had a BGH in and that makes the handlock match even easier. You want to develop the board aim for a savage roar lethal playing around AoE and moltens.
I played the Token Druid deck here on Hearthpwn, and I have close matches with Face hunters or I blow them out of the water.
If they don't trade (I kinda of like that when they don't), they will be dead very fast. If the hunter trades, then the matches are a lot tougher. That's from my exp at least, but I will play this deck and see how it goes over the weekend :)
What are the win conditions if u rarely need FoN in matchups? Is it just board control?
You win on board VS aggro and VS control and early Savage roar with Druid of the claw. You often actually get the Force of Nature.
Yup tried it a few times and i see how it works. 10 win streak very interesting deck. that power of the wild early on with violet teacher is just a game breaker. thanks for fun deck
I have a question, should I ever power of the wild into panther?
If you need a 2 drop yeah
Yes absolutely. Sometimes I like to turn 1 coin into it against shaman for an upcoming totem golem. that + hero power kills it. it's also good against alextrasza's champion.
Cool deck man, I'm still practicing this out since this is my 1st druid constructed deck and it's very cheap :D currently 5-2 with it.
Looking forward for those visual guides man, I still feel my playstyle is incorrect.
