Hi guys, I am INDIGO from Greece, I have been playing Hearthstone since beta and have been legend many times, last season i finished rank 1 legend with this Control warrior list.
Proof:
Good Matchups: Face Hunter,Freeze Mage,Patron Warrior,Oil Rogue,
Bad Matchups: Combo Druid,Midrange Paladin,Midrange Hunter,Shaman
The rest matchups are pretty close to 50-50, for example both zoo and handlock are pretty close because i use double Brawl.
Why double Brawl?
I put a second Brawl in my deck mostly for the patron warrior match up. The last days of season most of high rank legend players was playing patron warrior so i wanted to counter them.Double brawl is also really usefull against both type of warlock decks and paladin/shaman.
Mulligan:
You usually mulligan for weapons(both Fiery War Axe and Death's Bite ) and early game creatures ( Armosmith, Acolyte of Pain and Cruel Taskmaster )
Still consistently losing to hunter
@Indigo_hs i have enough dust for 1 legendary should i craft Harrison Jones or Alexstrasza?
Decent.
Makes you lose out on a turn 5 play that's actually strong against aggro and combo decks like patron. It will just have a negative impact on your curve overall.
I run basically the same deck but I took out one Armorsmith for Baron Geddon which is insanely good against zoo and in specific cases against patron.
Personally, I took out the second Shield Block instead for Geddon. Your thoughts?
Yeah I agree, as control, it is way harder to get value of Armorsmith, so makes sense taking one of those out instead of Shield Block
Quite alot of removal already.
With shield slam and execute, anything with silence would be a dead card I guess.
I watched a stream of Massan yesterday and he was using an owl as well.
Why is Oil rogue a good matchup? I usually get destroyed, have more trouble with them then any other deck.
Oil rogue burns her deck for limited damage. If you managed to control the board and stack some armor she has no hope to win against you. If you lose to oil rogue, most likely you failed to clear her board at mid game and she oiled her minions to hit your face for more than 1 time.
When I play against oil rogue I tend to avoid putting my 2drops on board in round 2-3. She would just backstab it and has a free combo chance. I would instead armor up / shield block myself, and usually the rogue has no plays till round 4 while you have around 5 armor.
Note that oil rogue is not good at dealing with your 5-6 drops when she has no board. For example, she has to burn at least 2 spells to remove your sludge belcher and it would be very painful for her to sap your shieldmaiden/harrison jones.
Remember that oil rogue has very few minions and you have lots of strong removals. Just remove her minions at all cost, manage your mana well to get more armor up chance and you are very likely to win.
btw assasin's blade becomes popular again recently and you may want to save your harrison for it unless you have to clear a big blade / avoid lethal next turn.
Thanks man, useful info.
I have enough dust to craft 1 legendary. I dont have ysera and grommash. What is more important to craft and what are the replacements for those two cards?
Grommash is absolutely critical in this deck. It will be your win condition most of the time. Ysera is just really good against control but is replaceable.
So can you tell me how can i replace Ysera ? Which card should i use instead of Ysera ?
Nefarian
Or ragnaros. Ysera is the slow winner, Ragnaros is the RNG hero.
Nefarian is an excellent replacement imo.
Just wanted to add how much I love CW and all the advice you get from great pages like this. wanted to add my 2 cents on a card i think is very overlooked, and has been doing very well for me in the current meta Iron Juggernaut. With all the draw happy decks the 10 damage from Burrowing Mine seems to come into play a lot. Also great vs other control decks. The big body has to be dealt with, then is almost forgotten about after words. With Alex as well its insane imo.
