Hey guys, this is Yueshen.
Chinese players and their decks are kind of unknown to the world, but there are still some good players and interesting decks. You may heard about the Chinese Priest that Savjz used, and also you may know the Freeze Aggro Mage made by Tiddler that Gosugamers posted before.(or the Flamewaker Aggro Mage I shared last week) I will continue sharing some interesting Chinese Decks in future.
The professional hearthstone player called HuLu from Team WE(World Elite) hit Legend #1 in CN server today.
WEHuLu #5495 is a really stronge and creative hearthstone player who is streaming on ZhanQi TV.
After BRM releases, everyone is trying to build new decks with dragons such as Dragon Paladin, Dragon Priest. HuLu did the same thing some days ago, he added new cards based on traditional Control Warrior. When he was testing this Dragon Warrior deck, it kept really high winrate and that made him hit Rank 5 from Rank 13 in only 4 hours. The day after that, he used this decklist hit Legend#1 from Rank 5 with nearly 90% winrate in 4 hours.
About the deck, It was improved on Control Warrior, and actually the playing style is also similar to it. This deck is stronger during middle-late game and more aggressive. Many people may worry about only three dragons for Blackwing Corruptor, but it works good according to HuLu's testing. All three dragons are cost 9, so you only can keep them in your hand untill late game.
Matchup:
This deck is based on Control Warrior, so it is good against many aggro decks, and when HuLu was using this deck he found that it also can beat Druid which is the worst matchup of Control Warrior. You can use Shieldmaiden, Sludge Belcher, Blackwing Corruptor to survive during middle games, then you can use your high quality high cost dragons and Grommash Hellscream to end the game. The last 4 matches for HuLu to Legend were all druid and he won all of them.
Mulligan:
Face Hunter: Keep Fiery War Axe, Armorsmith, all removals. Try to get damaged lower from Face Hunter as low as you can, try to make more armor. Be careful to use your weapons clear the board.
Midrange Druid: Keep Death's Bite, Card Draw. It up to Druid's draw when you against them. Blackwing Corruptor is a really good card against Druid. Use your high-quality minions to end the game.
Mech Mage/ Zoolock: Fiery War Axe is the most important card for these mulligan. Use your Shieldmaiden, Sludge Belcher, Blackwing Corruptor to survive. Give credit for Blackwing Corruptor.
Dragon Paladin: Not hard. Use weapons to clear the board, use high cost minions end the game.
Triditional Control Warrior: This deck has higher quality minions such as Ysera and Nefarian so not hard against triditional Control Warrior.
HuLu says he believe all the decks must have their own weak part, so this deck maybe not good against shaman or handlock. He kept really high winrate to hit legend so at least it works for chinese meta right now. He also thinks for all the dragon decks we do not need to put a lot od dragons in, cause you only need to keep those dragons in your hand.
If anyone has question about this deck, he is streaming on ZhanQi TV during 9:00 to 13:00 everyday (GMT+8), you can go there to see how he use this deck. Link here:http://www.zhanqi.tv/hulu

Thanks for every one taking time to read this. >_<
See u guys next time!
I think you're right about how topheavy this deck is, but I still don't think that holding 4-drops to activate 5-drops is a good idea. And without activation, Blackwing Corruptor sucks. Maybe Volcanic Drake? It can come out as a 4-drop in a pinch and pairs well with Brawl.
Twilight drake is better by itself, but if you're gonna make it that much harder to get synergy you might as well cut the Corruptors and play a normal control warrior.
emperor thaurrisan is really hard to fit in, even that whirlwind is pretty effective and has many combo possibilities either benefiting you or harming the opponent.
i have played a couple of games with this deck and from my observation it feels like you have to spam the board/your cards more than you would usually do as a control warrior so they will simply get overwhelmed by your strong and free cards later in the game. if you do that, basicly every game is gonna end in fatigue with you beeing ahead.
Very Great deck. Sjow also used this deck and it worked very well.
So you turned it back into a regular control warrior.
I'm winning consistently enough with this list (minus a shieldmaiden and an acolyte for 2 hungry dragons) however I have often found Nefarian to be a dead card. Currently 6-2 and only played Nefarian once and I had already established firm control late into the game so it was more of a win-more situation. Thoughts on replacing him with Chromaggus or perhaps another dragon with a lower cost?? Interested to see your or anyone else's input.
i made my own control dragon deck with nefarian, and he single handly one me the game on more than one occasion, highly being the sacrificial pact draw against a demonzoo. if anything chormaggus was dead for me in my deck, but this deck replaces it with the usual grommash
Hmm interesting... Chromaggus has been quite useful for me and isn't a BGH target like Nef is. but I can definitely see your point about how Nef can win the game for you. I just felt like I had too many 9 drops with Nefarian in the deck.
Nefarian can actually save you or help you get ahead. I got a Shadowflame against demonlock which won me the game and I got a Lay on Hands vs Pally in a situation were neither of us were clearly winning yet. Personally I swapped Nefarian for Chromagus to have an 8 drop instead of another 9 drop, I think replacing either Ysera or Nef is fine.
Isn't Chromaggus better than Nefarian?
Not in all cases. Sometimes chromaggus may draw you 2 cards IF he survives. Nefarian on the other hand draws 2 cards straight up. Both can draw useless cards but Nefarian does cost 1 mana more and can be bgh'd
I did believe that Chromaggus is better. However, Nefarian turn out to be better. Why?
First, both of them win the game if the opponent can't get rid of them. However, in most case they will be got rid anyway. So, in most case Nefarian give you 2 cards. But, chromaggus gives you nothing, it is actually a taunt. Facing some aggro deck, they do not even pay attention to it, because it has only 6 attack.
After playing this deck for 10 games, I feel its far too inconsistant with only 3 dragons in the deck. everytime ive drawn Corrupter Ive had none of the 3
First Game, Priest plays Deathlord on turn 3. I equip Fiery Waraxe and excute the Deathlord. Ysera come out of my deck and he concedes
The deck is a bit bumpy in the curve, and you can really feel it with a bad draw/mulligan versus hunter or zoo. Nefarian is a nice surprise though, and fitting Ysera into a build is always a good thing. I do personally find the winrate mentioned above to be highly improbable unless the asian market is full of pushovers. There's too much luck in the early game without Unstable Ghoul, or another anti-cancer third option. It does show up versus Grim Patron however, and smart play can make it a house when you can curve into turn 6 with control.
All that being said, I'm finding the card draw of two acolyte of pain to be slightly unnecessary as the body is largely ignored in the anti-agro early game, and three mana can hurt you. Against other control, your aggression with this build tends to keep answers in your hand while your opponent exhausts trying to deal with the beef. My recommendation: -1 Acolyte of Pain, -1 Shieldmaiden; +2 Hungry Dragon. Smooths out the early game, gives corrupter more handfill, presses the advantage against control and midrange. If I go up against much more cancer as I climb, I'm going to swap out Alex and a Taskmaster for Antique healbot and an unstable ghoul. Upvoting this deck as it deserves to be in the +250 range.
Hungry Dragon is horrible against Zoo/Facehunter. Shield Maiden is a lot better.
Pretty nice deck, really enjoy to play it. But sometimes i feel lack of 8-drops. And by 8 drop i mean Rag. Is it really necessary to have 2 shield blocks? Maybe strong 8 drop like Rag or Chromaggus would be good here? What do you think guys?
I think swapping Nef or Ysera for Chromaggus makes the deck more consistent.
Deck with Nefarian? I'l take t! =)
Hay thanks for posting this deck and writing up a description. It looks like a strong deck and it's really cool to see such deck variations from a place where the western community normally wouldn't be able to easily obtain.
Thanks for the deck post, I was looking for the new control warrior deck when there are full of Patron warriors one. But why do people stop running Gorehowl in control warrior anymore? I feel like it's a pretty good removel, since doesn't see Harrison Jones recently.
