Chromaggus puts a card in your hand that costs 3 mana and buffs him or harms you. This Druid deck attempts to get control of the board, and then neutralize the hero power. It also takes advantage of the fact that Chromaggus's brood abilities place cards in your hand to fuel Twilight Drakes and early Mountain Giants.
The first five turns, he will use his green, then his red, his blue, his bronze and his black, in that order. After that, it's random. You should hold green in your hand, and always focus his board rather than his face early. Get rid of red.
I decided to hold blue, since giving up that mana on that turn put me too far behind. He will swipe your guys, possibly flamestrike, and use claw and bite to hit you in the face. He also has a spell that gives him two cards and 4 armor. You can live with it.
I'd get rid of bronze, though. He has several big dragons in his deck and his board can overwhelm you if you let him have a turn while you hold bronze.
You can get away with holding black for a turn or two, but it gives him a lot of card advantage.
He has a minion that is a 2/3 that gets +2/+2 every time you cast a spell, including using one of Chromaggus's brood powers. Kill that thing immediately. Silence it if you have to, but try to save your silences for his Twilight Drakes.
He's hard to manage early and gets easier once you can get rid of an affliction and still have enough mana to do things. Tree of Life allows you to reset your health once you stabilize, and it will also heal your giants and legendaries after they clear his board.
EDIT: FabulousUghnau in the comments suggested Lorewalker Cho, and this is an excellent idea. I pulled the second Tree of Life and replaced it with Cho, and I think it makes this deck more consistent. Brood Affliction: Green will heal you if Chromaggus is holding one, and Brood Affliction: Red will damage him. Black, Blue and Bronze only confer benefits on Chromaggus, but they will still take up space in his hand, possibly causing him to overdraw, and making it difficult for him to get any advantage out of Brood Affliction: Black.
You want to try to mulligan for Innervate or Wild Growth, to accelerate your progress to the point where you can start cleaning his afflictions out of your hand. He opens quickly, with either Claw, Faerie Dragon or an early Chromatic minion. If he plays the Chromatic guy before you can get rid of the first red affliction, it makes the game very difficult to win, and you may want to concede and try again if he does that.
If you don't have Sylvanas, Cairne or Loatheb can sub. If you don't have Foe Reaper, Ragnaros or Dr. Boom or Troggzor can also work in that slot.
Depends, it is good for green and red but even when chromaggus has blue, bronze or black in his hand he will still benefit
from their effects. Made it really hard to get rid of them while Cho was on the board.
swapped in a hand full of cheap taunts (annoy/death) to play with the KT+taunt - worked 1st time. Just need to live long enough to drop KT while you have taunt on board.
This deck isn't giving any good results Took out Swipes and another thing for cho and two taunters
I was going to win 2nd try with this deck, and I stole his Nozdormu with my Sylvanas. Unfortunately, my turns lasted then between 2 and 4 seconds and I couldn't play anything, I lost. When he plays Nozdormu YOU HAVE TO KILL IT IMMEDIATELY !!!
Struggling. A lot.
Try putting in nourishes for extra ramp. Had like 10 mana while he was on 6. His minions are just stats so having big minions take care of them easily with extra mana to get rid of nasty chromaggus spells
This is an absolutely stupid deck. ONLY reason why I won finally after 30 tries, was because a i got a healing totem that he ignored. DO NOT PLAY THIS CRAP DECK.
I don't know what to tell you, bro. Some of these fights have really elegant solutions that neutralize the boss's heroic ability, or even turn it around on him, like using Maexxna's sap ability to recycle battlecries. Some of the fights present puzzles that have concrete solutions, like using buffs or Alchemist to keep Moira alive in the Emperor Thaurissan fight, or using Misdirection to neutralize Stalagg and Feugen on Heroic Thaddius.
But some of the fights just compensate for the crappy AI by giving the boss a totally ridiculous advantage. That was Rend Blackhand last week, and that's this fight. You can't consistently win these fights. You just have to build a deck that can win under favorable circumstances, and then play it until the RNG goes your way.
Yeah I crushed him first try. Didn't get anything special really. He even managed to wipe out a huge Kel Thuzad lock board by chaining 5 spells. Still died a horrible death. I don't have for reaper, sylvannas or a second tree of life either. Yah.
Liar.
Took me 4 tries. Sylvanas wins games. Turn 2 wild growth -> turn 3 innervate + sylvanas. It was down hill from there for him.
This deck is just 100% pure RNG. If you don't have innervate + wild growth in starting hand you going to have to hit that concede button. Simple as that.
Great deck. I recommend subbing out the two mountain giants for Ragnaros and Troggzor if you have them. If you can get a troggzor out, just keep the cards that make his spells cheaper in your hand and watch him fill the board with troggs unless you get really unlucky.
Yeah RNG plays a big role here but it's been a part of other bosses as well and this deck does it without needing a 100% perfect draw from turn 1, nice job!
Great idea for a deck. Tried it for a few games and it didn't seem to work out, so I replaced Foe Reaver with Troggzor. First game with that change I played Wild Growth turn 2, followed by a Twilight Drake on turn 3, took out the red and used my second wild growth turn 4, swiped and took out the bronze turn 5, Troggzor turn 6, Tree of Life + Molten giant turn 8, and after that it became a very simple game. Good luck to everyone using the deck. Try replacing Foe Reaver with Troggzor and seeing how your luck plays out. Good luck and don't give up!
Having Troggzor the Earthinator in this deck and getting him out with an innervate while keeping the cards that make his spells and extra draw=easy win. He will summon so many trogs that you will have complete control and he will get overwhelmed by buffing them on his own.
Got this 2nd try: Chromaggus start spam minions only after 5 mana cri... ._.
instead of harvest wouldnt mind control tech be better?
If he has 4 minions out you're already dead.
43 tries with this garbage and I haven't gotten close. Stop lying people! Come on.
I'm so over this. Got the KT + taunt combo up after 3 hours of trying, and he double swipes them to oblivion. You folk who got it have NO CONCEPT of how lucky you were.
And thanks to whoever is down-voting all my comments. It won't stop people who are using this deck realising how dependent it is on RNG.
