Hey all. just climbed to legend with this version of hound/thunderbringer Hunter that i created myself. Hope you find enjoyment and luck with it as well. I dont run tracker for stats but can post screenshots if needed. I used Selective breeder to copy Thunderbringer often, because it creates great pressure and has plenty of combos with the rest of the deck. Everything else supports the playstyle and gives you good clear and face damage to keep the opponents guessing and panicked into making bad plays.
Is there something I could replace wild spirits and spirit poacher with perhaps? :C
i would guess some kind of spell cards for damage or clear maybe?
Can’t wait to try it out
Very nice list, am gonna try it out in Plat now!
Have swapped a Star Power out for Ara'lon though, as I don't really like running 2 copies of it; especially without Arcane support, but even in those lists I often only run 1 copy. We are Hunters after all. ;-)
Also gonna try it out with Neptulon the Tidehunter by the way, as I see a tid bit of problematic awkwardness when you accidentally draw Rag, similar to drawing the KK before the Faithful Companions change.
Interesting concept, but seems very inconsistent in my 6 games with it at Diamond 8. There doesn't seem to be much hope when Selective Breeder isn't drawn early or Thunderbringer is. It feels like a weaker version of previous iterations of the core of this deck.
i was still around 60+ winrate around that rank, i think you just have to mulligan and play differently maybe. Card draw and mulligans put rag and combo cards into my hand a lot as well, but i ended up using faithful and playing the cards raw in order to win or force bad trades/ card usage out of the opponents. Forcing them to burn clears and making them thing they have finally got rid of all of your win cons only to Stranglethorn all your beasts or play your real thunder etc. There were a lot of matches that came down to the wire, inc my legend match with a Warrior. A lot of matches will feel like losses but can turn really quickly. Other hunter options may work better before D5 as well, just because of the meta and what you will play against climbing up, but I did use this from d10 to legend myself.
it really depends on the matchup, but i mostly try and go for barrel of monkeys and low cost cards to make sure i can clear boards and get my prison breakers unlocked on curve. you wont always be able to but it should lead to you having them when you need them most times. other than that, i sometimes keep yogg when i think he will bait out theirs or be able to steal another titan that will help me control the game. i think you always want to try and throw thunder back if you start with it, because having multiple is very strong since it will pull itself out as a beast or the elemental.
Nice deck, thank you. Can you tell little bit about mulligan, sometimes I am confusing...
I'd say mulligan pretty hard for your Thornmantle Musicians and Wildseed package. Vicious Slitherspear is most often a must-keep as well, especially if you happen to have some bananas or monkeys ready to roll. The rest of the curve will -hopefully- draw itself.
Also Trinket Tracker and Selective Breeder are decent keeps, but not optimal, you'd rather just draw them a bit later in order to keep your tempo and steam up. Hope this helps! :-)
hey, just wanna say ive been pushing for legend for a while and was finally able to get it from this deck. its a fun deck to play and works
congrats, happy it has helped, the best part to me is that its actually really fun and has a lot of different crazy little combos to pull off
