With Odd Demon Hunter running rampant and Raza Priest seeing plenty of success, (not to mention every other deck in Wild that revolves around a broken hero power or even/odd strategies,) being able to shut down these decks gives you a massive advantage.
The rest of the deck consists of a strong Control core. Fitting in as many powerful board clears and armor gain cards as possible.
Having only 5 non-core cards (Sir Finley Mrrgglton, Grizzled Wizard, 2x Khartut Defender, and N'Zoth, the Corruptor) is deliberate to reduce the amount of dead cards you can potentially draw into. With N'Zoth, the Corruptor being the only card that is unplayably bad if not at least one Khartut Defender has died.
