After trying to make control shaman with king phaoris work (unsuccessfully), i started playing the meta battlecry deck with lackeys and the early game from that deck was so good.
So i decided to try and make something in between those two decks. It has the early game and fast quest completion of the standard battlecry deck, but it also has control tools with board clears and heals. It is also able to finish the opponent through burn once the quest is done.
King Phaoris is also doing some work here, because unlike the control deck, most of the time i am a head on board and can afford to play him.
Currently 15-10 at rank 4. I'll try and get legend with the deck since it is probably my favorite deck of the expansion so far. The losses are mostly from priest and mage/hunter high rolls.
UPDATE:
35-22. Got to rank 2. Added Plague because of priests, but it also helps vs other classes.
UPDATE 2:
65-48 (58%) Rank 1. Slow and steady :D
UPDATE 3:
7-0 last push to legend, final stats: 72-50
UPDATE 4:
climbed 2000+ ranks in legend, currently rank 1354.
W/L: 107-74
Removed questing explorers, they were too often dead cards and i didn't need the early game 2/3 body, sandbinder and walking fountain working better so far.
I play an Arcane Dynamo in my Quest Shaman Highlander version with Phaoris. Great wat to power it up with the double-dip.
I thought about it, but i think it would be too slow in this type of deck. I can see it working in a highlander type of deck, though.
Thank you for the inspiration, I'm currently crafting my own version and I completely missed out on Omega Mind which is a great recovery tool! I now hope to get the deck in better shape against aggro.
Good luck :) You have to make it to turn 10 to use it effectively though, which is not always possible.
Early game plays the same as normal quest shaman: get board, complete the quest, try to connect damage from minions to face. Mid game is where you decide if you want to race and kill your opponent with wasps, lifedrinkers etc. or if you would like to go more control and try to stabilize until late game. Omega mind + aoe spell is a great way to clear the board and regain life. Warriors and Mages you have to race to kill as fast as possible in most situations, vs hunter and rogue you try to stabilize and win the long game.
If you'd like i can add you and spectate/comment on your games.
I don't know how to play. I played 2-7
accidentally replied to you above. I gave a couple of small pointers, i might write a more detailed guide at some point.
i tried and this deck just don't work like it should, phaoris never works
Sorry it's not working for you. I'm still having a positive winrate with it in Legend. In some matchups you don't have time to play Phaoris, and it can feel that it's a dead card, for sure. Obviously it's not an optimized meta deck, but i find it fun and different.
At what ranks are you playing it? Which decks do you play vs most often?
