As Unexpected Results is costing 3-mana now, it is time for this deck to shine!
Mana Addict and Vex Crow are stars in this deck. They create incredible tempo with Twinspells. Also Vex Crow and Sea Giant synergy is so sweet and surprisingly quite overlooked for a long time. Conjurer's Calling allows you to get most out of your Sea Giants.
3 card combos are rarely work in Hearthstone. Yet, Elemental Evocation + Celestial Emissary + Unexpected Results combo on turn 3 or Elemental Evocation + Cosmic Anomaly + Unexpected Results combo on turn 5 appear to be exceptions for this particular deck. Those cards have synergies with other cards like Frostbolt, Mana Cyclone, etc too. So they're not useless out of those combos.
Things need to be kept in mind while playing:
- Casting Conjurer's Calling on Vex Crow will give you one 2-drop, two 4-drops.
- On turn 5; Khadgar + Unexpected Results combo will give you five 2-drop minions with approximently 7-10 total attack. You can always play Conjurer's Calling on two of them the next turn.
- While Khadgar is already on board; playing Elemental Evocation + Celestial Emissary + Unexpected Results combo will give you; two 2-drops and four 4-drops on board.
Mulligan:
- Always hard mulligan for Mana Addict, Sorcerer's Apprentice, Mana Cyclone and cheap spells like Ray of Frost or Mirror Image.
- Do not hesitate to play Sorcerer's Apprentice for tempo and Ray of Frost for defence against Aggro decks.
- Mech Hunter and Mech Pally tend to build up humongous minions by magnetizing their Mechs. Mirror Image, especially with Khadgar, slows them down nicely.
- If you have the coin, you can keep Unexpected Results for turn 2 play. You may end up with having one Sorcerer's Apprentice and one Faerie Dragon on board.
- Vex Crows are the stage 2 of the deck. Make your opponents waste their single target removals on Mana Addicts, Sorcerer's Apprentices and Stargazer Luna first.
- Sea Giants perform better if you draw them from the deck.
Enjoy :)

The deck is tempo/aggro deck. And like every other tempo deck, if you go too much defensive you'll lose the board at some point because the deck is not made to be defensive. It is designed to overwhelm your opponent with minions.
5 minutes ago, i played vs Deathrattle Hunter for example. My starting hand was Sorcerer's Apprentice, Vex Crow and Stargazer Luna . I discarded Vex Crow and Stargazer Luna and i got Ray of Frost and Magic Trick. At the start of my turn i was lucky enough (it actually has a nice drop rate in this deck) to get Mana Addict. At turn 1 he played a 1/1 deathratle minion. At turn 2 i played my Mana Addict knowing that it would be very unlikely to have an answer at turn 2. I was right, he didnt. He played another 2 cost mech minion. At turn 3 i got a Sea Giant. I landed my Sorcerer's Apprentice and used both charges of Ray of Frost on both of his minions as well as Magic Trick which gave me a Mirror Image. I also played Mirror Image and went face with my Mana Addict doing 9 damage at turn 3!!. I really felt kinda bad for the guy. He played Unleash the Hounds in order to destroy my Mirror Image filling his side of the board with minions. Next turn i got Conjurer's Calling. Played Sea Giant into Conjurer's Calling and that was it... next turn i used my other Conjurer's Calling and he conceded.
Another good thing about this deck is that is not as popular as other mage decks, making your opponents mulligan their starting hand assuming you have a Dragon Mage or a Cyclone Mage deck.
....
I'm finding out that its just luck of the card draw and mulligan. Am I correct on this,
Could you replace Stargazer Luna and one Vex Crow with two Cult Master? And also replace either one or two Sea Giant with Mountain Giant? Or keep both kind of giants and remove a Ray of Frost
Or possibly replace Cosmic Anomaly with Cult Master instead of Stargazer Luna
Sorry for the late reply. :/
You can swap Sea Giants with Mountain Giants but you would need to alter your playing style from tempo to more control. I don't think this deck would benefit from such a change. But it is up to you.
Cosmic Anomaly x Cult Master change can be good for more card draw. That means you would also need minions generated by both Vex Crows.
Please let us know how it will work out if you make those changes. :)
still trying to find the best balance, but the change is not refined yet.
Hey, I like your deck, gave it a try and made following changes:
-2x Mana Addict
+2x Magic Dart Frog
Frog is a very good card with so many cheap spells and helps to contest the board better imo.
-2x Cosmic Anomaly
It's kinda slow and not enough spells to benefit from spell damage.
+ Bloodmage Thalnos
Fits perfectly and draw is lacking.
+ Archmage Antonidas
Staple in tempo mage, with so many spells can solo win games.
I'm not that fan of Mana Addict x Magic Dart Frog swap but please let us know how it works for you with these changes. :)
Interesting deck. I'll give it a try for a while.
Ty
Ehi! The deck seams great so I will try soon. But one question, against warrior how do you win?
Thanks, I hope you'll have fun with it. :)
I have to admit that it's a tough match-up. Surprising your opponent with Mana Addict and dealing 9 damage or even higher helps a lot. I see a lot of them wasting Shield Slam because of it on Mana Addict and Brawl because of Vex Crow and couldn't do anything about Sea Giant + Conjurer's Calling combos.
need a mulligan please
I'm going to write it in a minute. Sorry for the delay.
What a fun deck to play with! not only is it very enjoyable but also quite decent after the nerfs. Each game is quite unique and that is super appreciated. I made a video showcasing the deck in all of it's glory, I really hope you guys enjoy! (did beat pogo rogues, pretty happy bout it!)
hey kiwi, what is your mulligan advice for this deck?
Hey Kiwi, thanks a lot for your kind words! It's nice to see what I try to achieve with this deck is being appreciated. I'll add the video to the first post. :)
sorry to say but this deck is garbage - first I ran into murloc sharman who just filled the board with locs and had no chance, then i faced pogo rogue who I finally got to land the sea giant conjur calling on 6... but he vanished my 10-10s on turn 7. And then shadow stepped them pogo's so he had 15-16-17 pogo and I had 10 mana minions i couldnt play.
You should know Pogo Rogue's gameplay. These kind of decks that relies on a single winning factor (bounce his pogo's) has a very specific way of playing. You should have expected that he has at least 1 vanish in his hand before you go and use conjure on your giant.
The deck is not garbage. It is a very good tempo deck. Usually the guy behind the deck is responsible for the performance of the deck. Its a card game that is based on luck and decissions. Luck you cannot manage, but decissions are yours to make.
This deck is not garbage.
To state that a deck is garbage would take a lot more than 3-5 matchups. I have played this deck and won against Murloc shaman, a pala with some mechs and dragons, and a mage.
If you try out a deck and don’t like it, move along and try something else. Why not a pogo rogue or Murloc shaman...?
I can only second what Marmaga said.
THIS DECK IS ABSOLUTE FUCKING TRASH. FUCKING 1-5 because it stands absolutely no change aagainst Hinter, let alone most other decks! I'm pissed off you people convinced me to give this a shot
@Niriro
Just 6 games, really? That's your sample size...?
I climbed from rank 9 to rank 5 in 2 days with using two variations of this deck. My winrates were around 61% with this one and 58% with the version that I included two Acolyte of Pains. Today, I've climbed from Rank 5 zero stars to Rank 4 two stars in an hour with a new self build TTK Mech Priest... After losing 4 games with it while trying to figure out which strategy is the best for that particular moment.... It was 0-4 at the beginning.... That deck carried me to Rank 4 afterwards in an hour!
