The freezemage deck has been considered
one of the most difficult decks since the appearance
of Hearthstone, which is why I love it so much.
To be honest, I never wrote guides, but enough
people asked me to do it.
Actually:
Mulligans vs. Classes:
Rogue (Ladder King):
#1 Doomsayer (Just put on the second turn, because the rogue has many ways to remove him further, so we will win some time)
#2 Daring Fire-Eater (Most horns creatures have 3 health, that says all)
#3 Frostbolt (Freeze Edwin VanCleef, or just deal with an intrusive creature, sometimes you need to keep up to leite to keep the bandit from hitting you with a Waggle Pick)
#4 Polymorph (The Only Answer for a Big Edwin VanCleef)
#5 Zilliax (Best anti-agro card in standard)
#6 Ray of Frost (To win time before aoe)
You should always remember how much damage a robber can inflict per turn and one moment go into throwing spells!
My personal winrate is 67%.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Warrior (control):
#1 Alexstrasza (Without this card you will never win)
Khadgar is best used for two ragnaroses.
Archmage Antonidas must bring at least 3 Fireball.
Try to lure the enemy Zilliax before placing Alexstrasza.
My winrate is 60%.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Warrior (k'thun):
Basically this is an autoloss, but you can try. The game is based on the same scenario, but try not to let him draw.
If you often meet them in ladder, you can replace the Travelling Healer with Arcane Keysmith.
My winrate is 25%.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hunter (mechanism):
#1 Doomsayer with Frost Nova (Your ability to win xD)
#2 Polymorph
#3 Travelling Healer (A hunter needs to spend a lot of creatures to kill her + 3 hp)
#4 Zilliax
#5 Frostbolt
#6 Daring Fire-Eater
In general, the matchup is quite difficult due to lack of treatment, but with a good approach, the hunter can surrender on the 6th turn.
My winrate is 40%.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hunter (mid):
#1 Doomsayer
#2 Frostbolt
#3 Daring Fire-Eater
#4 Fireball (Counter Tundra Rhino)
#5 Zilliax
#6 Polymorph
#7 Alexstrasza
It's hard to win if a hunter uses Zul'jin on turn 10.
In general, he has no heal, so after Alexstrasza you can kill him.
My winrate is 55%.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Mage (Khadgar):
#1 Polymorph
#2 Fireball
#3 Ray of Frost
#4 Arcane Intellect
#5 Doomsayer (Before the giant)
In general, the easiest matchup, to freeze the table is a guarantee of victory.
My winrate is 81%.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Warlock (Zoo):
#1 Doomsayer with Frost Nova
#2 Blizzard
#3 Frostbolt
#4 Daring Fire-Eater
#5 Zilliax
It has always been the most simple match.
My winrate is 100%.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Priest (Nomi):
You can smoke.
Winrate 100%.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Druid (Token):
#1 Doomsayer with Frost Nova
#2 Daring Fire-Eater
#3 Zilliax
#4 Travelling Healer
#5 Frostbolt
Nothing differs from the confrontation with the zoolock, just consider the fact that after the combination # 1 he can use Soul of the Forest.
My winrate is 78%.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
Shaman (Murloc):
The same as zoolock and token druid.
My winrate is 80%.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
Shaman (Control):
#1 Alexstrasza
#2 Daring Fire-Eater
#3 Archmage Antonidas
Try to lure the Witch's Brew before Alexstrasza.
Difficult matchup, but winable, should be enough damage.
My winrate is 55%.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
Paladin (?):
Who plays Paladin ?!
Possible changes vs Aggro:
Pyroblast -> Acidic Swamp Ooze
Power of Creation -> Mirror Image
Power of Creation -> Blast Wave
vs Control:
Doomsayer -> Astromancer
Travelling Healer -> Arcane Keysmith
Flamestrike -> Harrison Jones
Flamestrike -> Leeroy Jenkins
I HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS
gl on your road to legend Kappa.
Mostly i'm playing on my phone, so i don't have all statistic of my games. But if u don't know how to play - nonsense it's u.

So you're saying warlock is an autowin for you, 100% winrate etc , and yet you have 60% winrate vs them as presented here.
l2p..
Like a pro once said;
If you have 100% matchups, it’s meaningless, it only shows the lack of quantity games you played^^ .
Maybe because there are not only zoolocks, but also other archetypes that are not in the current meta? And I did not want to include them in the guide
i had really high hopes for this deck but its pretty meh. like the only good matchap for this deck is zoo lock rogues are too fast and they almost never run out of steam + u need to have good starting hand in most matchaps otherways ur screwed. I feel like mage has no really good ladder decks atm
This deck has an appalling WR on HSReplay. Currently at 37%.
hello, i am very interested in freeze mage so my question is:
is it possible to replace Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk and Archmage Antonidas ?
If u trust in agro matchups - yes. But u will never win Warriors.
Nice one !
I miss so much cards to try it but bringing back freeze mage in this meta is a good idea. I personally made an OTK pal deck but it struggles against warrior (30+armor) and huntard (dead by turn 6-8).
Quick question for ya. If you’ve played previous versions of freeze mage like I did since gvg during it’s rise to fame, you should know that the whole idea was abusing ice block to get uncle tony out and start pumping out fireballs with mainly ice lances. How does this work if those 2 key elements are out of the picture. Having played that deck archetype as a main deck I still have every piece included in your list and craft kalecgod to see for myself but would love your 2 cents on this
::edit:: - forgot to mention I’m floating in between rank 6 and 10 so i will be taking this with a grain of salt but I’m curious as to what it’s capable of. I remember way back when, at some point I had played so many freeze mage matchups that I could pull a win out of my ass in the worst possible matchup. It was all about Jedi mind tricks and anticipating what your opponent was gonna throw at you. The deck just had every tool in its arsenal so it was up to the player to know how and when to react accordingly.
Also in gvg was so much agro decks, like face hunter. Now agro decks are slower. So... i don't understand the question to be fair. But the deck works very good against this meta.

1st matchup against rogue and the main idea of freeze mage was very present lol. He seemed confused about what I was doing the whole time and if it wasn’t for leeroy he would of died. I was actually surprised to see him since I think he’s usually not included in the typical decklist. Feels like I could of used an ice barrier on turns 3 and 4ish. It would of saved my ass from the leeroy dmg and ultimately win me the game. I also think having it in the list would potentially make the opponent do mistake plays trying to figure out what it is or stalling a minion for a turn if he thinks it’s mirror entity.
I played freeze mage in most expansions I was just pointing out that losing ice block really made a dent into it’s viability is all. I’m just theorycrafting here, not criticizing.
Ice barrier very slow and nothing against control. If rogue has good start - it's fair to lose to Leeroy!)
But also Leeroy can be the 30th card. This is HS! More games you will play on this deck in today's realities - more understanding what to do u will earn.
110% agreed with everything said here. I saw you suggested Arcane Keysmith for à travelling healer. I’ll most likely do that. I’ll let you guys know how it went. I’m recording the stats as we speak so I should have a good sample size after a few days
Great guide and great deck m8!!
Sick deck, missing Kalecgos tho and was wondering what is a good replacment, thanks!
Kalecgos is insane, any replacement will be bad, but i think you can try to use Malygos
Nice GUIDE!!!!! TY and GL in the game.
