Rank 5 to Legend, 58% WR.
You can swap The Lich King for anything that feels right for you. I used Vinecleaver in its place, and in some version Argent Commander or Tirion Fordring. Vinecleaver felt better overall, but i wanted that extra punch that The Lich King provides due to the cards given at the end of turn.
Always keep Secretkeeper, and always try to setup your board in such a way that your buffs hit for most damage. Preparing board with Redemption, placing minions correctly for Fungalmancer and Dire Wolf Alpha etc.
You can create sticky boards due to Redemption, so capitalise on it, and use Call to Arms only when they clear your board, or asap against Odd Paladin and Odd Rogue. Worst matchups are obviously control with easy AoE, but you'd be surprised from how many players screw up board maths due to the Paladin secrets. Your target is speed in those matchups, and I've noticed that i always ride a good Unidentified Maul or a Fungalmancer on surviving board to victory.
Also, having 2 Divine Favors and lots of deck thinning (Bellringer Sentry and Call to Arms), you are going to draw big against your bad matchups, so the pressure is always up.
A perfect hand would be a Secretkeeper, a secret and Call to Arms. With the amount of deck thining, 1 copies of key cards are enough (like Equality. or 1x biggies and big weapons).
Possible additions to the deck:
- Add one more Lost in the Jungle
- Add some weapon hate (Man'ari)
- Try Argent Commanders or Sunwalkers due to stickiness and value with Redemption
- Try Avenging Wrath
Hope you like it.
Ask away anything and I'll try to answer.
Edit: Removed The Lich King for Bonemare, and it works much much better.
Cool deck :D What about Valanyr ?^^
Yes and no. Yes because it can be good when drawn on curve, but entirely useless if drawn early and you hold it while Divine Favor would grant you another card. To be honest, I'd run Avenging Wrath instead.
I replaced bonemare with Valanyr, it has won me games and alot I never seen it. On curve it's very strong. I'll give avenging wrath a try, I found with all the AoE spells now it's hard to get something to stick. Probably one of my favorite decks to play ATM, I went on a crazy win streak to rank 7 from 15. Hit a wall lots of locks.
I managed to rush it to legend from 5, before Taunt druids stormed the meta. I was lucky then. Can't imagine how it'd fare now, since I am not actively playing at the moment.
I beat aggro rogue and big mage so far. Feels good
Yes aggro rogue is one of the best matchups. However big mage felt really difficult when I played this. Good job.
Thanks for the deck. Having a blast playing it, one of my favorite with Kingsbane Rogue. I am still trying to figure out what classes to go hard against or hold back.
No reason to hold back on any class. You run 2 favors and Call to arms. I'd go 3 minions against all decks (stop there if you fear MCT), but that's about it. If you fear Spreading Plague you are slowing yourself, and still lose. So, I guess if you can go wide against Taunt druid, do it, and take the chances that he didn't draw Plague.
Yes, he's quite good here. You can really take advantage of his sticky presence and the fact that he gets Secrets out of your deck, leaving the good stuff in. Definitely not the MVP, but a silent worker.
Came here for the Secret Daily Quest, had enough fun to forget about the Quest after a Winning Streak. Thanks!
Haha, really glad you liked it. I haven't played it since the time I posted it, so it's refreshing seeing new comments in this deck.
Much fun :D
I put in Leeroy for Bonemare,
I've been thinking that +1 Lost in the Jungle + the guy that adapts the silver hands would be good.
Yes, I was with 2 Lost for a long time (since it's a nice setup for Dire wolf and a good follow for Juggler). I just wanted to battle big boards with equality, consecration, and due to the fact that i lost to Odd Paladin before some tweaks, so I had to remove cards.
I like Bonemare for the fact that it generates two threats. Nothing more. I don't like Level Up, because it has a difficult requirement, and such cards clog the hand (you already got Equality that is a setup card), which is bad for Divine favors.
Test, change, re-change and end up with a list. I think that any semi viable deck can get to tier 2 status, given that the player knows what he is doing.
Have fun.
Wow! Thanks for the update. I'll definitely giving this a go, probably when I am through with the current project of making it to legend with Even-Dragon paladin.
Impressive ride from 20 to 7. Congratulations!
I'm not sure how to play this deck. Is this supposed to play like aggro?
Entirely like an aggro. Make your divine favors better by playing as many cards as possible earlier than 4. Try to go as wide, as you think you should (play around MCT against decks that play him or try to avoid Spreading Plague ending your dreams if you have 3 people well buffed and hitting).
I had some fun with secret pally before the nerf. I'm looking forward to giving this version a try later.
Don't expect the likes of the 6/6 monstrosity, but the deck has its uses. Also it takes advantage that even if people don't see Baku at the start, the play like they've seen it.
Could you explain the purpose of Hydrologist in the deck? It's not particularly strong being pulled by Call to Arms just being a 2-2 and doesn't trigger Secretkeeper. You could just run say a Loot Hoarder for a bit more consistent draw or something else with better stats like a Plated Beetle that gets pulled out by Call to Arms. Overall it looks like a nice deck to try out.
