Hello all, my name is Muhzzy (Swamp#11753 in-game) and this is my take on Tempo Rogue in the Witchwood expansion.
Proof of W/R
Deck Overview
This is the classic Keleseth tempo rogue that we all know and love but with the addition of the incredible new card Hench-Clan Thug, it can get SO big starting turn 3.. Getting Keleseth is, of course, a super plus but this deck still does so well without even drawing/playing him. You want your early board minions to start clearing your opponent's threats and then start playing all your value cards.. Blink Fox being one of them along with Saronite Chain Gang and Sonya Shadowdancer.
Card Statistics:
(note: First version of deck, have made a few changes since)
Mulligans
Always Keep:
Prince Keleseth
Hench-Clan Thug
Versus Aggro:
Tar Creeper
Fire Fly
Fan of Knives
Mossy Horror (Iffy one, hard to tell with this card sometimes but if you feel as though you need to keep against a hunter or paladin, do so. Has helped be clear a full board many times)
Versus Control:
Blink Fox
Elven Minstrel (They'll be removing a lot of your creatures so you'll need to draw more mid-late game)
My Tech Choices:
Spellbreaker - Self explanatory
Mossy Horror - So many Paladins and hunters on ladder right now and this card can take care of the pesky little beasts and Silver Hand Recruits.
More Write-up coming..
I feel like this deck don;t have chance now. At rank 9, i done like 2-8?. I'am too weak on cubelocks or druids and too slow on aggro pal. 2 wins on dumb quest warriors, also with keleseth with hand. Hmm, miracle rogue is so far better at this moment for me. But i don;t give up. To be honest i never use Sonya, cuz she never come on time. Maybe -sonya and +s spellbraker. I will test it.
This deck gets quite technical when facing hard match-ups like cube-lock, taunt druid and Paly. I've managed to sort out how to handle Paly with much more consistency -- I ended up dropping 1x Blink Fox and including 1x Harrison Jones, and will keep Harrison on the muligan if I manage to draw it. Saving all shadow steps for your Vilespine Slayer or Spellbreaker is key. Can't get greedy with an early Edwin VanCleef or multiple Prince Keleseth plays. In my experience, having +3 stats from Keleseth at the very beginning of the game is the only situation where you'd want to waste both shadowsteps -- but if you're on turn 3 or later -- you really cannot afford to use your shadow steps for those stats, as you've already lost the tempo and need to leverage your removal to get it back.
For taunt druid, I'm at a loss. I just posted on another successful tempo rogue deck (which achieved legend) to understand how they are piloting the deck against the druid matchup. They include an additional silence, and an additional cobalt -- interested to hear anyones thoughts on this.
As for Lock -- for me it's 50/50. If they aren't lucky, I win. If they get their draws -- I lose.
İ wanna put a lich king on this deck what can i remove?
You can take out 1 Blink Fox.
Great deck. Still in the nose-bleeds, but have ridden a win-streak from 20 to 18 + 5 stars in short order. From what I've encountered so far, I believe one could steer this deck to legend. I'd like to see more people play this deck so I can practice the mirror ;)
On a side note -- I'm not seeing a lot of action out of Blink Fox -- you've included 2, and I haven't messed with it yet, but was wondering how much conviction you have holding on to this card.
I take it back: Blink Fox has really come in handy with the clutch card on more than one occasion now. I can't think of anything I would change in this deck -- at one point I considered another cold blood for additional pressure, but as it plays currently -- it just works. I've nearly made it to 15 from 20, and I've been playing for less than 2 hours.
Hey man ! I’m glad you’re enjoying and having success with this deck. I’m also glad you changed your mind on Blink Fox, incredible card. I also did have 2 Cold Blood in this deck but took one out for another Tar Creeper because of all the aggro.. feel free to add another in, though!
Replacement for sonya?
You can just throw in another SI: 7 Agent or another Spellbreaker if you’d like. Kinda hard to replace her with another card that can give you the same value.
