This is a riff on the sticky paladin archetype that uses divine shield minions, instead of deathrattle minions, to create sticky minions for buffs and synergy with Bolvar, Fireblood, Blood Knight and Rallying Blade.
With 12 shield minions total, nearly half the deck, along with one shield spell, hopefully there's always something on the board to buff or use for synergy. Card draw could be an issue and something I may come back and revise after I play a few games and see how this deck works. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to make them! (Even if that's to suggest I stop trying craft decks and stick to my day job.)
Mulligan is pretty simple. Call to Arms, any minion that costs 2 or less mana (except Dirty Rat) and, of course, the new Dr. Boom, Corridor Creeper.
As I've gotten a few games under my belt, Blood Knight has been the stand out card, especially if you get to play him early. He's kind of a poor man's Edwin VanCleef.
UPDATE: Because aggro is so prevalent in the current meta this deck was beginning to feel a little too back heavy for a non-control deck, so I pulled Zola the Gorgon and N'Zoth, the Corruptor for +2 Dirty Rat. Pulling Dirty Rat with Call to Arms helps you survive until you get the chance to whip out your big guns.
This is a fun deck! Doing pretty well with it! I'm missing a few cards so I swapped out
- Wickerflame Burnbristle
- Bolvar, Fireblood
- Blood Knight
+ Howling Commander
+ Chillblade Champion
+ Grimestreet Protector
Also, swapped the N'Zoth, the Corruptor for a The Lich King. N'Zoth just wasn't doing much for me...
Thanks for the feedback. Howling Commander was originally part of this deck but I pulled him for Zola. As I continue to refine the deck he might go back in because aggro decks are so prevalent right now I don't want the deck to be overly late game heavy.
Pulling the cards you pulled (or didn't have) is taking away some of the deck's best synergy, however. Those three cards are a huge part of what makes it work.
Keep checking back as I continue to refine the deck as I get more games with it under my belt.
