You're wrong; legendary cards can be stronger than basic cards because you can only include one in your deck. Blizzard has repeatedly stated that the rarity of a card does not represent its power level, which is why cheap decks can compete with wallet warriors on the ladder.
Not to mention, "Legendary cards are stronger than basic cards" is a pretty incorrect statement in the first place; I definitely wouldn't run Millhouse Manastorm in any of my decks. North Sea Kraken is preferable 99% of the time to Majordomo, and even Taz'dingo is better than Hogger
I feel like this has too good of vanilla stats for its battlecry... Seems like it should be a 4/4 that gains 5/5 (or vice versa) so there's at least a risk of not getting value out of it.
BGH says otherwise.
T6 Drakonid Crusher into a T7 Dr B is a good play to bait BGH ^^
Yeah, shaman was tailor-made for anti-lategame control.
so op. rush/zoo decks run this get their opponent to 15 health and gg
Unfortunately the card is too heavy for an aggro deck.
Vanilla stats alone are good, with the addition of the card text, this is a great card, especially in arena. Falls to BGH yes, but you can't BGH everything.
Boring card, lazy design.
second Big Game Hunter inc
im almost 100% sure that this will be a 1 of in dragon decks that aim for mid/lategame
Strictly worse card than Boulderfist Ogre. This is ment to work in aggro decks or immediately after using big damage spells (or Alexstrasza). It's a 9/9 for 6 when used correctly and not a power creep. Sure it's ridiculous value for stats but don't forget Big Game Hunter or Silence minion / spells. One might want 2 BGHs when this hits the meta.
One of the things bout BGH in the decks is that BGH is pratically useless against hunter/aggro. BGH is essentially a dead card slot against Aggro. Against handlocks, some mage decks, control decks, ect, BGH will only eliminate 1 big minion, and those decks have plenty of low cost, heavy hitters to play, so you kill yourself a 7/7, only to have several more 8/8s replace it on the board next turn.
I think it'd do quite well against handlocks if timed right. 9/9 means then can take out a giant (not argus'ed one) and still be standing.
15 hp criteria screams for handlocks since they often browse in that region (esp. after jaraxxus).
If this becomes popular you may see handlocks running 2 siphon souls and/or 2 shadowflames.
I personally prefer Sylvanas Windrunner combined with Siphon Soulin the 6 slot in my handlock deck.
Don't see too many taunted minions so The Black Knight remains on the bench for now.
I guess only time will tell after all cards are released and the meta settles down.
Dragon synergy is all that matters here. Worth a slot in a dragon deck for sure.
1) Its a dragon
2) Its 6 mana for 6/6 for vanilla which is pretty decent alone
3) It can really be a quick finisher for aggro.
Yes people can BGH but if one already have the board, throwing him down on turn 6 mean even if someone BGH him, they are low on resources to handle the remaining creatures on board.
Alexstrasza? Turn after it???
this is a very solid card i bet it well be even more better in the arena
Finally, my opponent is at 15 health! 9/9 here we go! *Get's BGHed*
How many big game hunters do you usually run?
