o: i mean in magic the card is not that "hard" to understand. "When you play this card, apply this effect for the rest of the game: if you dont have more cards in your deck you dont lose the game. At the stard of your turn, if you dont have cards in your deck, summon seven 3/2 impo tokens" not with this exact words but yeah something similar. Its not really "super complex"
Except it remains if you put cards back in the deck. You don't summon 7 - you fill your board. I don't know if the portal takes a space. It summons them on your opponents turns too. The magic card text of this would take up an A4.
Yes indeed. Unless you get an Emblem the effect would stop if you add more cards in your deck. But not like is not really like a billion of works. I agree in the fact that you can cut a few words when you just said "this happens" and the game does all the rule for you but them again that is why online TCG are popular. Because people dont need to keep track of what is happening because the game applies the rules for them. But for me this sounds exactly like when people said "imagine a yugioh duel that last more than 3 turns and each turn last less than 1 minute" because i play all 4 games (LoR too) for me is not like thaaat complex to make this effect in other games.
Edit: for me is something good and something bad at same time. Yes the short text and the visuals helps people that is not really into deep mechanics. But sometimes the card text dont help you to understand how a card works until you play it (something that not happens in magic or other card games). For example if you take control of a minion with certain cards that minion "gains" rush and with other cards the minion cant take an action in that turn. The cards dont tell you exactly when this happens.
Yeah, not playable at all.
Sure it look good on paper, just like old quest Lakkari Sacrifice seems good when it was released, but do you really have the time to play a 5 mana 5/5 when you are already in fatigue ? You are already trying to not die next turn so I don't think it is gonna help at all.
you're not playing a 5 mana 5/5 in fatigue, you're playing a 5 mana 20/15. It summons them at the start of EACH turn, not just your turn, and it FILLS the board, it doesn't just give you 2 of them like OG quest.
You definitely don't build around this, it's a control/zoo finisher, like nomi or Elysiana, you're simply playing the deck like normal, and should you hit fatigue before you win, boom. It's a shoe-in for zoo, IMHO, but I'm more curious about how it will work in control as a finisher.
lets imagine a deck where:
Tick is top end minion and HoG is top end spell.
Polkelt reshuffles the deck, Matron and Soul Rend can be easily drawn. feels legit
Chef Nomi’s distant relative.
I‘m calling it: Fatigue Warlock will be a thing. Look at Tamsin Roame with Mortal Coil. Or after dropping Neeru Fireblade just Ritual of Doom ok the next turn. And if you need to get your deck empty Tickatus! Need your high cost draw? Taelan Fordring!
i am superhyped. Not by this card, but i meen overall. Core set, new cards, horde, everything seems to be pretty decent. Nice.
this card is rlly cool and all so its a shame how much worse it is than the new buffed Core set version of Jaraxxas as a value tool.
This wording is actually so sooooo bad. Does the 3/2 get summoned when you play this card? Start of your turn? End of your turn? Start of the opponent's turn? End of the opponent's turn?
That tells you how 0 fuck they are giving to constructed. KEKW
It says "each turn" which means at the end of each players turn. Same wording as for Gruul for example. And i assume the portal will take a board space similar to lakkari sacrifice
Still using twitch speak outside of twitch, I see. That's why you can't understand simple card text.
i imagine this in a zoo warlock deck
People seem to be way over hyping this card. If this is the only pay off then don't expect to see this card played often. For starters, it's still a late game card. Another thing people overlook is: what if you discard this?
It's just gonna be a meme deck, if you wanna play a slow Warlock deck to beat other slow decks just play regular Control with Tickatus. I'm not even joking, why play any other slow Warlock in standard when Tickatus exists?
Tickatus can be tempoed in turn 6 and its gonna feel actually good
It’s not good, at least not right now.
Against aggro/midrange, vanilla 5/5. Against control, just strictly worse than going for tikatus.
In the time you can pull this effect off, you, or other control/combo decks, can do better, flashier things.
Gonna tentatively rate this the worse leggo, if not card, of the set, pending knowing what the rest of the cards are. There is just no world where this is better against control/combo than tik.
Seems like you really need a way to tutor this guy.
Also is it beginning or end of each turn??
Absolutely garbage wording. No clue what is a portal, nor when this portal does summon minions. Well done team 5. This all expension is a huge mess. You can feel that they have no clue what they're doing. Looking like me when I was 14 and was trying to hide the fact that I didn't do my homework from my teacher. Very pathetic
Check out Lakkari Sacrifice from Un'goro
The awesome thing about digital card games is that you can play the card and then you know what it is. It's not like Magic: The Gathering or other paper card games where the card is literally unplayable unless you have a paragraph-long description explaining how the rules work. That's why Hearthstone can do cool things like Zephyrs that Magic can't.
To answer your question, a portal is probably a permanent that takes up a board slot like the portal from Lakkari Sacrifice/Nether Portal. And as for when it summons minions, probably at the end of every turn (yours and your opponents like the new Onyxia the Broodmother) since if it was the start of turn then it couldn't summon every turn since it wouldn't summon them the turn you summoned the portal. Its not too difficult to guess this stuff if you think abt it for like, two minutes lol.
