Seems like a much worse Astromancer, but Warlocks often have big hands so this might find its place.
Not a worse astromancer. For example, if you have 8 other cards in hand, Astromancer can summon cards like Captain Hooktusk, Hir'eek, the Bat (...) or cards like Tirion Fordring, Catrina Muerte, (...).
For me, it's a stable astromancer, because if you have 8 other cards in hand, it summons a 8/8 with taunt. So good 8 Drop.
New waifu + the return of Handlock = Warlock Tier 1
Brann Bronzebeard + this may become viable Renolock combo.
Gut instinct is that 6 mana is too much, even for a huge taunt.
Combo it with Khadgar at 8 mana and maybe now we're talking.
Khadgar is a mage card...
Thank you SnorlaxBR
Hard to say whether or not this will make it in. There will definitely be some kind of dragon handlock deck this set, but I'm not sure there's space for it.
13/13 6 mana Demon Taunt with a 2/2? That's 15/15 with the new legendary for six mana. Obscene value potential in control demon/dragon lock.
Hope Warlock get's Demon/Dragon hybrids. :)
Week one 1 of expansion: Everyone runs two Spell Breakers and two Iron Beak Owls in their deck. (joking)
Actually the 'lock legendary only increases your hand size to 12, and playing this would instantly leave you with 11 cards max in your hand. So the absolute biggest taunt you could get is 11/11.
It wouldn't be wrong to play the Warlock quest here, especially with the extreme card draw mechanics, and the 0 cost deck pull. 0 Mana 13/13 Demon Taunt. All the benefits of Galkarond without needing to relying on a Token minion style of play.
Too bad evenlock sucks nowadays
can’t tell if this is bait
With Tome of Origination you can, yes.
We're talking about a perfect world here.
the minion that allow you 12 cards is a 7 mana...
Not at turn 6
Eh, I'm not as sold on this one making the cut. Handlock is great for what you can get out on turn 4. Yes, on turn 6 you can get an 9/9 taunt in a perfect world. But the world isn't perfect, and a bunch of times this is going to be a bad card. I like the design though, for sure.
11/11 taunt in a perfect world thanks
Not on curve.
Actually makes the cut in even warlock?! Such a tight list already, but this seems abt good enough
