New Card Revealed - Swampqueen Hagatha
A new shaman legendary has been revealed.
Upon playing this card, you will receive two discover interfaces containing Shaman spells. Choose one from each selection and then when you play the generated minion that was added to your hand, it will also play those spells! You get to choose the targets for the cast spells.
This one is different, You get a power card straight to hand! One that you can use to gain back board or push for tempo or use as removal. Whatever the matchup demands. Hex Lord Malacrass and Dr. Morrigan are different as they only generate value. While this is pay tempo up front and gain value and tempo on command.
The reason this won't be played is it requires some kind of Shaman midrange/control deck to be playable. It's not good enough on it's own.
Edit: One that isn't shudderwock
I'm surprised that Akali doesn't see play, but I suppose that's mostly because odd warrior is the meta for control warriors atm. Once we see regular contorl warriors, I hope akali sees play. Drawing an 8/7 zilliax is pretty OP.
I can't wait for Mammoth to go bye.
Btw, Morrigan won't work since you can't play her before drawing Rafaam since it'll risk missing the battlecry effect that wins your game against control. Morrigan is just terrible. It requires a recruit deck but even then an 8 mana recruit minion is too late. You want to recruit sooner, otherwise what's the point of recruiting (unless you recruit multiple)?
Legendary. Not a build around. Can go in a minion based deck like Elementals (if it’s still a thing). 5/10
Fun 9/10
Imagine getting this with Academic Espionage Pog
PogU Kazakus wihtout prerequisite? PogU
i like the card but its slow beacuse you put a 5 5 for seven mana do nothing only give you a other 5 5 with 5 mana to your hand and you can play it in the next turn if you can survive.. i want try to play this card look fun but i dont know.. we need to now the new spells of this expantion (sorry for my english i dont speak very well hehe) :)
It looks realy good!! Activision made a terrible mistakes last 2 year by making 1 card to rule them all. The game was realy banal. All decks were about a single card... Hope that Acti learned from their mistake and this year will be better. So far new cards looks awsome!!!
Seems pretty strong. I'm really looking forward to see a new darker expansion this time. Expansions like Naxxramus or Frozen Throne were always the best ones! And to be honest: Getting a 5 mana 5/5-minion with two spells as (I think) battlecry ... come on, that's awesome. Combining it with Shudderwock could be gamebreaking! :)
I'm glad that these villain cards are leaning towards being more interesting than OP. I mean, it could be wicked in the right deck, but from the looks of it seems like a fun card to play.
Are we getting one card each day? Kappa
It's called H Y P E
Card seems decent prob not gona see that much competative play, if this was 4 mana 3/3 like kazakus it wuld be good, but 7 mana i dunno seems way to slow, and shaman has some of the worst spels in the game in quantity.
Not everything in this game is about competative play. I really doesn't matter if the card is good or not on a tournment. You are not a pro player, it will not matter to you, or me, if it is good for competative play. Just enjoy the game, dude.
I like this card! The fact that it's a 7 mana 5/5 that gives you a 5 mana minion implies you can't play both in the same turn, HUGE difference here. Skill card, you have to think about what you're gonna need turns ahead... appreciate that.
It could be good for Shudderwock Deck, where you get new Horros to your Hand everytime Shudderwocks Battlecry Triggers, you can teach everyone new spells and if you played your horrors before Shudderwock you have their Battlecries too.
So it is do nothing for turn 7 but in Turn nine you get the effects of hagatha AND Horror
Why would the turn 9 go like that?
The Horror likely casts held spells as a battlecry, but what spells are there for Shudderwock to cast? It would be highly unlikely for it to be able to cast identical spells from a previously played Horror, as the spells themselves are not part of the battlecry but rather the casting of taught spells. Shudderwock could theoretically run the Horror's battlecry, but with no spells held on Shudderwock's body it would be battlecry: do nothing.
The Hagatha part is also pretty meh for Shudderwock, as it probably won't even allow you to do the spell discover and will just give Horror 2 random shaman spells (of which most are bad). Pretty sure Shudderwock just generates random things from discover mechanics, or at least that is how Yogg worked whenever it hit a discover spell. The Shudderwock advantage from this card will most likely be: generate a new Horror with randomly selected spells
I dont care if this card works. I want more cards to look like this. Its interesting and not lazy in design.
Exactly. More cards like this and less boring OP cards that resummon everything, etc. The more fun cards like this they print the less they'll have to compete with oppressive stuff. They won't be bad if everything's "bad". If this is bad I want worse.
Not much to say that haven't been said... Slow, potentially high-impact card. The fact you can actually target the targeted spell that you may get actually helps a lot, it just remains to be seen if there's a meta that actually allows you to play a 7 mana 5/5: Do Nothing.
IT's pretty nice the 2 Legendaries have some pretty non-standard effects, makes it interesting. The difference is Rafaam has 3 components - stats, taunt, and a powerful lasting effect. This card has non of those. And they cost the exact same mana.
Thanks for mentioning the targeting. I didn't get s chance to see the video and it's not obvious since every single other card had been random targets. That makes this way better than I thought it was. Still not sure how good it is though. It's obviously a lot of value in a single card especially considering shudder wok. And the discovery makes it's spell generation much better then those comparing it to the og hagatha are implying
