Hagatha is the most forgetable Hearthstone character and we just had Dr. Boom two expansions ago. There are other characters who have yet to return, like Kel'thuzad or Rafaam
Maybe upon learning more about her, Hagatha becomes more memorable. To do that she needs to return.
Not that I don't want to see the older characters to make a return, especially Rafaam since his lore is entirely within LoE (almost. I think Togwaggle referred to him too). Good to see the fortune teller though. Learning anything about her is pretty cool.
I'm seeing an oceans 11 style heist expansion with all the recent original hearthstone villians. A real rogues gallery.
"Villians of Violet hold" sounds right with the naming conventions. Maybe to break out rafaam (captured by the LoE) to lead into a ulduar/archeology expansion to recapture him.
guys, its okay to reusing old characters cause they was only existing in the game, they actually do some small influence on lore,i think small indy compani trying to start a story where characthers will interact with each other and arounding world maybe,i sure that we will see many new characters in future, but now they just trying to develop lore and relationships between all old characters.Blizzard are not copying, they are improve old stuff, pls see the difference.
Honestly, though, I'll take anything that calls back to previous sets in a game where they throw out 90% of every sets ideas and one-off keywords and never use them again.
With some keywords it is absolutely fine. There's very little design space to work with for 'echo' for example, because it pretty much has to be a low power 2 or 3 mana card (1 if the effect is very weak like Unstable Evolution), and some classes could abuse it really badly if not careful (there was a reason mage and priest weren't given echo spells for example). Similarly the design space for adapt is very small: how many different ways are there to buff minions that weren't already covered in Un'Goro?
With others I never want to see them again (recruit, jade golems). That only really leaves inspire that has never been reused and would be somewhat welcome (magnetic doesn't count yet since there hasn't been time to say whether it is gone or not, and even joust made a reappearance with Raven Familiar).
I think because of inspire specifically people overstate how much gets abandoned, when really most keywords do continue to be used or were pretty much fully explored in the set they appeared in.
I agree. But also, it's a card game. Once it's released, the lore has no impact on day to day playability. Even when I played magic, multiple blocks were the same world with the same characters, that all had influences on the cards and art. Whether or not I liked the lore didn't stop me from going to my games shop every weekend and playing the game.
We aren't even sure if Hagatha and Dr. Boom will be new cards in the new set yet, right? They could just be setting up some of these characters to play a role in the PVE content. I hope that's all it is, because it seems too soon to have an expansion that focuses on bringing back some of the biggest villains, when some of them haven't even rotated yet.
I do look forward to the inevitable expansion later this year, where the classic good guys from HS put a team together to fight them.
I don't understand why people are so frustrated about reusing old characters. After Kobold And Catacombs actually I stopped to care about hearthstone lore at all. To be honest expansion lore never make any difference about what actually we receive in the set. The lore is not making expansion neither better, nor worse. Especially if this is single player content. What difference make what kind of avatar will boss have. I doubt that they will reuse their powers anyway.
If you have zero care for lore, then you are a soul less gamer, and I feel sorry for you. Maybe go play solitaire.
Not saying lore is everything, but it Used to be a massive part of Blizzards games.

You know something is wrong when a pet gets more attention then his master.

This guy gets it.

Lore is maybe 10% of this game.

Allow me to insist.
This could be perfectly teasers from the adventure and not the expansion, the people is getting conclusions out of nothing.
Small indie company running out of ideas
There is enough stuff in WoW for 20 more expansions.
200 tbh
Too bad they are not using it. Instead we are getting cringy recycled shit.
I agree, they are running out of ideas. If they actually re-use 5 characters that are not even 1 year old, it will be the lamest expansion ever.
If you have zero care for lore, then you are a soul less gamer, and I feel sorry for you. Maybe go play solitaire.

When is the actual trailer or card reveal coming up? This is cringe af.
I feel like the word 'cringe' is a very overused word. and it has kinda lost all meaning and is now just something we say when we mean "not perfect".
or at least thats how I feel about it.
I call it cringy because it lacks uniqueness and is childish as hell. Also they are doing it over and over again, that’s why it’s cringy.
