Dean Ayala Asks: What Would Get You Back Into Hearthstone?
Hearthstone's Dean "Iksar" Ayala had a question for those that used to main Hearthstone as a game but no longer do.
What do they need to do to get you back?
We're actually quite interested in knowing too. With many old Hearthstone players still frequenting our site to see what the game is up to or to chat with old friends, there has to be something the Hearthstone team could do to reel you back in?
Quote from Dean AyalaIf Hearthstone used to be your main game but isn't anymore, what would get you back?
Something to incentivize deck building. Playing against the same 3-4 decks on ladder gets boring after 2 days.
Different modes like
Achievements.
Specific rewards for achievements like set your favorite card with a red color or get an alternative hero of your choice for the hardest ones.
I still play. I quit for a couple months during the last expansion. But, came back on my own. I can't tell you what would bring me back but I can tell you exactly what made me quit.
I looked at the top decks and 3 or 4 of the top 4 decks were all aggro/tempo. And I said to myself, 'I have no desire to play those decks, or to play vs. those decks' so I quit.
The slower the meta is, the more I enjoy the game. I understand that this is contrary to a lot of your fanbase, but I would like it if the top 4 decks tended to have a representation of all 4 deck types (aggro, midrange, combo, control) When all the best decks are all of the same type it kinda sucks unless you like playing that type. Furthermore, I dislike when the best deck (highest win %) is also the fastest. IMHO it would be better if the meta was balanced a little more around climbing speed. (just a little more, nothing crazy)
Don't just visit r/Hearthstone when you're trying to build hype for an expansion.
People put up ideas on Reddit and HearthPwn daily about how to improve this game and go to great lengths to explain what keeps them from enjoying this game.
You don't need to ask this question, people are screaming the answers from the rooftops and have been doing so for years.
Achievments, 2v2, deck size-40 cards
user customization modes where we can ban some cards make some rules may be funny rules and the community will make it balanced and funny again
Jaina nudes
Many many thing come to mind but if I was to pick just one it would be Sealed format to play with friends. I imagine that being like a separate game mode. Me and my best friend stopped playing regular duels long time ago. Tempostorm's page has been out go-to thing for last 2 years I'd say. Ofc other wishes include tournament mode and ways to customize our account in any way. Maybe give us an option to have some sort of custom avatar? Hell, give us at least an option to somehow show if we're Horde or Alliance (or even neutral).

They must implement the offline game mode, playing against competitive decks of professional players or against the innkeeper to test your decks.
Buff cards... there is nothing wrong with buffing card and making part of user's collection a bit more useful.
I stopped playing...but warcraft takes my money now so I guess blizz still wins.
The game is too expensive. I spent 50 bucks on an expansion, and I get bored because I quickly stop being able to try new decks. If I kept playing every day then yeah I would get mostly a full set by the end of the expansion...but my interest just doesn't get there any more.
So either give more for spending money or make it easier to get cards. Maybe allow completing quests against solo adventures? At least then I can quickly bang out a quest and eventually get the cards.
Tournaments for non professionals. Give me the ability to set up my own tourny with friends and join one with other online players chosen at random. Feature a nice prize pack at the end for the winner and a consolation prize for coming in second for the latter.
They would probably have to add more game mode and make it so our money is worth being spent. The problem with Hearthstone's "economy" is not that they don't give us enough free stuff, no what the hell?We get at least 2 legendaries basically gaurenteed the first day of every expansion and we can also get 1 free legendary for all other sets including wild sets(but you'd have to pay for those)
Anyways, I feel if paying 50$ for an expansion would be enough to give me a majority of the set then I would be sure, I'll spend close to 100 or more every year on hs.Now, not so much. Also make the meta funner, this is bound to happen soon once the old sets rotate out and they'll have more breathing room.I basically started in a time where the meta was basically always stale and I am used to expansions giving me only a few cards that were genuinely fun/cool to me.This will hopefully change in April, but ya just my 2 cents.
Lower power level and less powercreep shit design
More strategy and less RNG based victories...
You have to kill auto chess.
Better dust economy
replay modus
If they made every achievement give dust and gold for all time it would make the economy much better and a better game in general.
