Dean Ayala Asks: What Would Get You Back Into Hearthstone?
Hearthstone's Dean "Iksar" Ayala had a question for those that used to main Hearthstone as a game but no longer do.
What do they need to do to get you back?
We're actually quite interested in knowing too. With many old Hearthstone players still frequenting our site to see what the game is up to or to chat with old friends, there has to be something the Hearthstone team could do to reel you back in?
Quote from Dean AyalaIf Hearthstone used to be your main game but isn't anymore, what would get you back?
I play less than the past year, I think one of the most frustrating thing is the exchange of "dust", I dont have too much time to play and win all the available gold to buy some pack and get more dust , so I focus in 1 or 2 classes, and I dust the rest, but when I have to craft and I need more dust, it´s really heavy wait and try quest to get some gold for new packs.
Dust cost should be lower.
For the other hand, when you mulligan, example 2 card, so you get 29 card on your deck, what are the chances of get again the same card... really guys I play a lot of years MTG of real life, tournaments, pre release, and other thinks, and when you put a card on the deck, most of the times, stay there, they are really low chances of get it back -_-
A refund for the paid content I bought, and then you decided to rotate out.
You did not provide ANY information about it when I paid for it, and when I contacted you this was your response
"I understand you have some concerns regarding the changes made to Hearthstone [...]
Now with Hearthstone I can confirm changes will continue to be made as new expansions[...]
but sadly we will not be providing any players compensation, dust, packs, etc.. for the changes made. I apologize again for any problems this has caused you but do hope this helps explain the situation. Thanks" - Blizzard support.
They didn't "rotate it out" - they added a new game mode called "Standard" and left your old game mode perfectly intact. The problem is with your perspective, not Blizzard's actions.
Wtf go to wild
just play wild. u talk as if ur cards are now unplayable or banned, lol. wild is fun why are u restricting ur game?
I spent that money to play the MAIN game mode, which was replaced with what they introduced then as "standard". Not some secondary random one.
They offered no information that they would rotate out the content at the time I paid for it.
The fact that I get promptly downvoted shows the reason why they can get away with such shady moves.
So you spent money under a false premise that you invented out of thin air, and then got mad when they didn't read your mind? That's even MORE bizarre, and is the ACTUAL reason you've been downvoted. "Main" game mode is an entirely relative term - LOTS of people "main" Wild. If you're upset they decided to *promote* Standard more than Wild, that's an entirely different complaint that's still unrelated to where you spent your money initially.
I bought cards to play in play mode -> ranked which was the main mode. Then, they inserted stadard -> ranked which they designed and ensured it was the main game mode.
"you invented a false premise out of thin air" - wow. I dont get why you'd enter a discussion you have nothing to gain from , and without arguments. Consider informing yourself
Neither of us has "anything to gain from" this absurd argument - you're just here complaining into the ether about nothing. I'm just shocked at your absurd entitlement - I suppose I shouldn't be. The oblivious tend to remain that way. Be well, my obtuse friend.
Less snowball cards OR better answers for them.
A minor touch that would be nice is making it so that once you pull 2 of the same epic, you won't get a 3rd unless you have the whole set, like how they treat Legendaries. Super frustrating to be excited about an expansion only to pull 5 Gurubashi Offerings. Was it extra dust, sure, I guess, but not the same value as new epics to begin with, which would help with the often frustrating game economy, and my own excitement.
I am still a pretty active player, but if I were to go it would be due to the cost of the game to stay competitive. It is so disheartening to spend the money I do on each expansion and all the gold I've stored up over the past few months only to get about half the legendaries of a new expansion. Yes I regularly reach rank 5+ to obtain the biggest dust reward each month. Yes I regularly clear my daily quests (and mulligan for better ones). If I am doing all of these things and still spend a good chunk of money, it should be easy for me to obtain all the cards I want from an expansion. I would love to see the dust cost of legendaries to be altered. Either make it 1000-1200 dust to craft a legendary or give us 800 when we dust one. 1600 to craft and 400 when dusted is BRUTAL.
A dream feature regarding legendaries would be to allow us to dust them for a full refund if we crafted it within the last 24 hours. I can't tell you how many times I was so sure a particular legendary card was going to be awesome because of an idea I had. I'm often left with a 1600 dust deficit, an idea that didn't pan out and a card that I never use hoping desperately that it will be of some use in the future.
Let's face it, the developers cannot be perfect with their ideas of an expansion and I don't expect them to be. I definitely believe they're doing their best. I just ask that they let us make mistakes too and not punish the people who are signing their paychecks.
I would like for Hearthpwn to hire a proof-reader because this article is an abomination and my OCD is off the charts. what the hell lol
"What do you they to do to get you back?" was my favorite snippet, how about yours?
that one got me too, i was literally like "wtf dude, i can't even process this no matter how many times i try to read it" ><
hahahah hilarious stuff goddamit
but yeah, about the iksar stuff, i want my dear ben back :(
Halve dust costs, people should not be punished for wanting to try out new ideas.
Look at MGT Arena and see how many different modes and formats. learn from the grandaddy of card games and profit
Often balance changes would be great. And I mean not only nerfes but also buffing cards and more than 5-7 changes per expansion. The game could be so much better if many cards with interesting design were playable.
This will never ever happen, as it would alienate more people than would enjoy it.
The return of Ben Brode. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
