I might pick it up from Servant of Kalimos but I will most likely not be running this in my elemental mage deck in til ungoro rotates out. like really. half of my deck is ungoro.
6 mana is actually reasonable mana cost for this since it can potentially be a Reno, and also Elemental Mage can flood the board easier than a Dragon Priest can so those are the reasons why it's at the mana cost it is.
In fact 6 mana is perfect because it's set up for Blazecaller
Keep in mind, if any of the totems take off, 3 damage are will be very important.
This card is pretty ridiculous with DK Jaina and control Elemental decks. Its cost can even be reduced via Leyline Manipulator
Yes, many people say that this card costs so much because It can heal you up if you have Frost Lich Jaina in play. That's true, but to deploy this combo, you:
1. Must wait till turn 10 at least, or no heal, sorry (Fix: turn 11 actually, unless you play any 1cost elemental with coin together with jaina on turn 9, which is also low chance to happen, thx to Ibbinx for noticing this)
2. Must find Jaina, lol, which isn't going to happen every game to you.
In the same time, aggro decks have much higher chance to have rather big board even by turn 4. So, what would you choose - to have 6 mana 3/3 deal 3 dmg to board with a condition that requires you to play a specific card on previous turn, which you probably didn't want to play, but you have to do it to survive, or 4 mana 3/3 deal 3 dmg to board with a condition that requires you simply to have a specific card in your hand? Answer is obvious.
And if mage will make it to turn 10 and will have Frost Lich Jaina played, she will get her heals anyway with hero power Water Elementals, and for AoE you still have a better Flamestrike (which you can combo with Arcane Artificer for extra survivability), that will not ruin your board aswell.
Concluding: card is far weaker than Duskbreaker, and in 9/10 games you simply won't get that possible heal, because you will use this earlier, and you wish you used it 2 turns earlier.
P.S. ye, downvotes for the objective truth
Technically turn 11 unless you have the coin
Ye, you're right. Din't think about that.
Turn 10 minimum if leyline manipulator gets your flame elementals from fire fly to cost 0, or have coin.
Still no Dragons...
I'm seriously waiting for all the cards to come out and there's no new dragons. Blizzard response "well those cards were all meant for wild not standard." :)
You need an elemental in your hand the previous turn, and you need to play it (or another one) in the previous turn. That's objectively worse than simply having it in your hand.
why 6 mana wasnt there a dragon that did the same think just for 4 mana not like mage would play this even for 4 mana since ementals are weak and mage got somany better aoe spells
Frost Lich Jaina turns this into a 6 mana 3/3 soft Reno Jackson. That's why it's so expensive.
A soft reno jackson that casts a soft flamestrike. Its absolutely bonkers for Frost Lich.
elemental mage has a big board. why would you run something that clears ur own board when mage already has tons of enemy only board clear.
It's great for book mage, as they want to run as few spells as possible, this gives them a board clear without forcing them to play spells.
Trash-- esp when compared with duskbreaker, whos condition is even easier and cost 2 whole mana less.... um no thanks, il take Baron Geddon anyday, who cost only 1 mana more and is a threat at 7/5 stats and ongoing end of turn aoe.
This is a pretty good card for midrange elemental minion mage which has basically no AOE. It's expensive but I think it's still very good for the deck.
Look at all these monkeys who think a turn 6, 3 damage AoE is bad on a Mage elemental.
How would Ragnaros be in that deck?
