Marvelously Magnetic
Dr. Boom designed many of the Mechs that can be found in The Boomsday Project with Magnetic capabilities! Mechs with the power of this new keyword can merge with other Mechs as you play them to tackle even the toughest of tasks!
Simply place your Magnetic Mech to the left of any Mech you’ve already got on the board and they’ll fuse ALL their stats and card text together into a bigger, more powerful minion! Need them to stay independent? No problem. Just place your Mech down to the right of an existing Mech (or next to any non-Mech minions), and they’ll stay un-plugged to handle smaller tasks (and avoid getting blown up by powerful single-target effects or removal).
Watch the video and follow along as Stephen explores the power of these Magnetic marvels!
Will you combine your Mechs into gigantic mechanical juggernauts? Or keep them un-plugged to operate autonomously? Test out your designs on August 7 when The Boomsday Project commences!
I feel this addresses the issue Bonemare caused actually. The issue with bone mare was that it was a +4/+4 (and taunt) to an existing minion PLUS the body of the Bonemare. This does buff the minion in question, however it uses the Magnetic minion as a buff instead of a minion with a battlecry. I just feel this makes buffing minions better because you can either have the extra body on board OR you can make an existing minion bigger. It'll make for my interactions and interesting plays because you can either put your eggs in one basket or you can keep making a board presence; it'll be interesting.
Good thoughts and I agree none of these are that strong. I hope I am wrong, but I could easily see this mechanic abused by a really powerful minion. Probably druid, lol
Good thing the big three using Magnetic will be Warrior, Hunter, and Paladin then; all three. I think they're trying to make up for their failure of the Grimy Goons still.
But out of those three I think that Warrior will be the most abusive of this mechanic; the ability to make big and bulky minions is something that warrior would love; especially a semi-control warrior. It all seems just a little slow for Hunter and Paladin play style.
I can definitely see Druid getting abusive with the magnetic neutrals; ramping into these would be busted af
It's a shame Beryllium isn't a neutral. Together these would run pretty strong in a Combo Priest otherwise.
Seems crazy to me. I certainly won't be pre-ordering.
That's... what you would do? Drop 5 mechwarper so Zilliax is free, then start buffing. How is that not obvious?
First, you must have an empty board, as you will need 7 spots.
As to the OTK - it happens if Mechwarper sticks the board from previous turn.
Otherwise you only get a huge Lifesteal taunt, which is a strong power turn in 3 cards but may not be enough to dominate in a Wild tbh.
You missed the joke.
But it actually cant work with a full empty board: Glinda for 6, you have 4 Mana left. Play a mechwarper for 2, then one for 1. Now all the mechwarpers are free, so you play all five to make Zilliax cost 0, but then you only have one more space on the board, and magnetic effects don't work with a full board. Blizzard learned from Shudderwock, and they thought DEEP about this.
However, it's wild, so emperor thaurissan is a thing.
I'm kinda worrying about Arena. These magnetic cards seem way too "win more", and these kind of cards are the ones that make the gap between first and second bigger.
Me too, I don't want to see games defined by "who buffs his mech with magnetic first and trades"
Mimiron's Head new mechanic kappa
btw seems interactive
all of these are pretty horrendous
Nice to get a chance to see a handful of new cards but oh boy was the guy uninteresting to listen to. If you had him read his high school essay on economics you'd most likely have the same monotone presentation.
You might be right, but only those 3 classes will get mech with magnetic key word - atleast that is what he said in the video.
True, but Zillax & Wargear are neutral & have the magnetic tag.
Did you watch the video from the blue post?
I think old expansions should be recycled to a degree. Way too many mechanics or themes were not implemented very well. With mechs you mostly had all of the best support for them relegated to mages. With inspire it could have been designed to be more consistent for the player (such as winning the joust if it ties, or even better the idea I once saw from one person's custom cards where Inspire cards cost more while in the deck but then revert to their balanced mana cost while in hand to increase the odds of winning a joust).
I like that zilliax almost fully triggers corpsetaker alone.
".....magnetic, one of the new mechanics coming in the Boomsday Project"
So there are other new mechanics we're getting then?
Sorry to the server admins - as I'll be refreshing main page of hpwn like a mad man for a while :P
Yes, there will be Omega mechanic. There is no keyword for that, but it's something that happens when a player have 10 mana crystals. There are already one or two revealed cards with this.
