Game Mechanics Updates
- Continued updates to game event timing to make card interactions more intuitive. Read our previous Game Mechanics Updates blog for more insight!
- Counterspell beats whenever and after triggers.
- Summon and Play triggers are now evaluated using their in-hand stats before they are affected by board modifiers and their Battlecry.
- Ex. Playing Faceless Manipulator targeting a 5-attack minion will no longer advance Jungle Giants. It will be considered a 3/3.
- Minions that enter the battlefield without being played from hand will have any (Whenever or After) summon triggers evaluated before board modifiers are applied.
- Ex. If Azure Drake is pulled onto the battlefield adjacent to Dire Wolf Alpha it will no longer advance Jungle Giants.
- Choose One minions that Transform now consider their transformation effects before entering play.
- Ex. Playing Shellshifter and selecting the 5/3 option will count as a 5-attack minion and advance Jungle Giants.
Arena Updates
- Added several new pick “buckets” for non-Legendary cards and two for Legendary cards.
- The new buckets are halfway in power between the existing buckets, and they’re intended to create more varied choices when drafting an Arena deck.
- The very strongest and very weakest cards do not appear in these new buckets, so those cards will appear as picks about half as frequently as they did previously.
Evil Twin Greetings
- When players with the same hero (except Death Knights) greet each other, new emotes will play!
Added the following card backs:
- Back in Blue – Acquired from winning five games in Ranked Play, June 2018.
- Lightforged – Acquired from winning five games in Ranked Play, July 2018.
Bug Fixes & Gameplay Improvements
- Logging in after a new season begins will now correctly display only the latest season results.
- Kingsbane that has been transformed into a different legendary by Prince Liam will no longer retain buffs.
- As Kingsbane is not destroyed when its Deathrattle triggers, Rummaging Kobold will no longer retrieve it.
- Spellbender will no longer trigger Rat Trap or Hidden Wisdom when it triggers.
- Rat Trap no longer triggers when your board is full.
- Voodoo Doll and other Deathrattles now correctly trigger during a Defile.
- Shadow Reflection now appears correctly when transformed into a spell.
- A Zombeast crafted out of Vicious Scalehide and Exploding Bloatbat will no longer trigger its Deathrattle animation when it’s played.
- Tess Greymane will now replay hero cards with her Battlecry.
- Tess Greymane’s Battlecry is now limited to 30 cards, and will stop if she is silenced, killed, transformed, leaves the battlefield, or if any hero dies.
- Lynessa Sunsorrow’s Battlecry is now limited to 30 cards and casts the buffs in a random order.
- Lynessa Sunsorrow’s Battlecry will now include the effects of Choose One cards.
- Leyline Manipulator now correctly reduces the cost of cards created by Golden Kobold.
- Effigy triggered by killing Molten Giant now properly summons a new Molten Giant.
- Night Prowler now has yellow glow in hand when no minions are in the battlefield.
- King Togwaggle will now swap decks without burning cards if both decks were over 30 cards.
- Transform effects such as Thrall, Deathseer will no longer activate summon triggers like Starving Buzzard and Blubber Baron.
Monster Hunt
- Shaw's Shank now correctly counts minions that have taken damage equal to their unbuffed Health.
- Alternate Timeline no longer resets Infinite Toki’s Health to full when played by a player.
- Frostmourne will now correctly summon minions that it destroyed before using Toki’s Temporal Loop Hero Power when its Deathrattle triggers.
- Pillage the Fallen treasure now triggers when Sword of Justice expends its last durability.
This patch is a broken mess. Battlecry minions that are changed after they are played, affect other game play mechanics.
* Grumble played then hexed won't trigger Elemental effects the next turn
* If a battlecry minion is silenced after it's played, it will NOT trigger in Shudderwock
you mean silenced same turn when its played?
OMG a Shudderwock counter! Silence/transform Grumble. I'm here for it.
It is not working, I tried to silence grumble after he was played and it was still working with Shudderwock...
It is battlecry so if you silence it, it has no effect...
FYI, these bugs have been hotfixed. Thank god.
I have played quest druid more than any other deck since release of KaC and I can tell you the list that became popular recently (with faceless) is an inferior build. The most powerful quest druid decks take advantage of recruit mechanism. When every minion in your deck costs 0, recruiting minions less than 4 Mana is any minion. This also means you don't run minions with strong battlecries and weak stats. When grizzled guardian gets popped, it should summon giant threatening minions, not a 3/3. The only battlecries that belond in the deck are anti-battlecries like mukla. Starting the quest on turn 3 is awesome and mukla summoned w/no battlecry on turn 4 just as good. In wild, hungry dragon is a good one.
Well the thing is that if you play quest druid, it is usually combo druid with malygos and moonfires or devilsaur and cubes with deathwing. Its good deck, but I think there are better ones. Have fun with playing it.
If you run dinosize, this is actually a buff, cause now random order means that she might get dinosize first and the other buffs later .

To all those people complaining about “quest Druid nerf 😡😩😭” you are completely misunderstanding the fact it’s an across the board fundimental mechanics and interaction change. Quest Druid is just an example of this mechanic change and not actually a target of a so-called nerf.
Hearthstone has had always had confusing and non-intuitive interactions. And to correct this Blizzard have started with a ground up redesign of some of the game mechanics. Starting back with the trigger checks that affected things like Wild Pyro and bounce effects.
This latest update address cetain after and whenever triggers that check Health or attack or other conditions. It now checks the trigger based on the original card that is played or summoned and not based on any buffs, auras, or battlecry that changes those conditions. Quest Druid just happens to be one of the better examples of this and is an unfortunate casualty. It is not the intent of Blizzard to directly nerf the card.
Well the bundle was pure trash for me unfortunately :-(
Can#t wait for the golden pack.
The Quest druid correction is a good thing, I refuse to call it nerf because it isn't, it can be considered as a bug which has been corrected now.
The changes to Tess and Lynessa are not really understandable, especially Lynessa. I don't see her dominating and she's easy to counter with silence.
New quests are good :)
Why random order is needed? This not a "Nerf" but this is just wrong. 30 cards limit seems reasonable (echo buffs for now and future expansions etc), but random order?
Its unfair towards a f2p player to not being able to purchase these bundles for a decreased gold price... I mean c‘mon Blizz, I will refrain from taking out my credit card.
As a free to play player you aren’t putting any direct financial contribution towards the game development. You can’t expect to get everything just given to you. There has to be some incentives for paying customers and cheap bundles are a good way to do this.
Blizzard isn’t a charity it’s a business.
Playing free to play is fine but you can’t complain about not getting all the same benefits paying players get. There has to be some trade of for playing a game for free. Whether that’s ads, pay walls or time investment. Be thankful HS doesn’t use stupidly restrictive pay walls and ads in this game like a lot of other F2P games do.
If you like the game maybe directly support its development from time to time and put your hand in your pocket.
It’s 8.00
Deserves an upvote as well as a laughter towards every person who downvoted my comment. Apparently edgy opinions are not welcome in a forum full of disciples. Have a great evening
Quest how give us dust? Thank you blizzard~
Is the Golden Pack affected by pity timer? For example if I haven't open a single legendary in 39 classic packs. Will the golden pack I open next give me a guarantee (golden) legendary ?
I see. Thank you
