Kobolds Expansion Releasing December 7
Say what? Thanks to a small line noted on a recent Hearthstone Blog post, we're ready to make a bold release prediction. Kobolds and Catacombs will release on December 7.

All new expansion cards will be allowed
What is This? I Don't Even.
Allow me to explain.
When tournaments have allowed new cards in the past, it's always meant the expansion has already been out prior to the event's beginning. It should also be noted that in the history of Hearthstone, all December expansions so far have released in early December.
- Goblins vs Gnomes released December 8, 2014
- Mean Streets of Gadgetzan released December 1, 2016
With card reveals starting up again on November 20, we're certainly in for a quick reveal phase. Looking back on history for this year only, Un'Goro and Frozen Throne had 14 day card reveal periods.
- Un'Goro began on March 17 with a reveal stream and ended on March 31 with the final reveal stream.
- Frozen Throne began on July 24 with Ticking Abomination and ended on August 7 with the final reveal stream.
If history is going to repeat itself, and it will, we're in for another two week long event. With set releases historically taking place on a Thursday, you can mark the following dates on your calendar.
- Monday, December 4 - Kobolds and Catacombs Final Card Reveal
- Thursday, December 7 - Kobolds and Catacombs Release
Here's to another great card reveal season! Stay tuned for all of our coverage beginning in just 12 days on November 20. Dates on this post are assuming the Americas region. They'll likely differ in other parts of the world, so don't shoot the messenger!

Yeah, even more broken than ultimate infestation and primordial glyph
Kobolds reveals started November 3rd, so wouldn't your 14 day clock put it at November 17th?
I think you're probably right, it'll be 14 days from the 20th reveals, but just sayin'.
So far we were just teased though. :) The actual review starts November 20th.
Yeah, and I'm hoping the currently revealed cards are the Ticking Abomination of this expansion, because so far I'm very unimpressed.
On my birthday. I guess I will celebrate by buying some extra packs and opening all of them.
When tournaments have allowed new cards in the past, it's always meant the expansion has already been out prior to the event's beginning.
Goblins and Gnomes put all cards in the arena something like a week before launch. People were complaining that they blew through all the gold they saved up on arena and had to buy the card packs.
Again, this arena event happened BEFORE Goblins vs. Gnomes was released, and it was the first expansion, so all of the rewards were still Classic packs. This meant many people spent through their gold playing in the arena before the expansion hit.
Release date news is nice. But those "INN"vitationals are just terrible format, if you want to promote the game better in Australia, why not move one of the seasonal final to there.
The Innvitational is far more fun to watch than seasonal finals.
More interesting decks and surprises than standard meta.
What a truly wonderful Pearl Harbor Day present !
Yeah cool, it would be nice to get access to twich prime as well here downunder
FeelsEUMan
Plus they want to leave enough time for a winter veil event probably.
that if nothing goes wrong in our favorite small indie company.
Thats some old meme, good sir
It's an old meme, but it checks out.
