The Balance Patch Releases Next Week - September 18
We're going to be seeing the five recently announced card nerfs hit next Monday!
Quote from DaxxarriIn the recent Upcoming Balance Changes – Update 9.1 blog, we discussed the details and philosophy behind balance updates that are coming to several Hearthstone cards:
- Innervate - Now reads: Gain 1 Mana Crystal this turn only. (Down from 2)
- Fiery War Axe - Now costs 3 mana. (Up from 2)
- Hex - Now costs 4 mana. (Up from 3)
- Murloc Warleader - Now reads: Your other Murlocs have +2 Attack. (Down from +2 Attack, +1 Health)
- Spreading Plague - Now costs 6 mana. (Up from 5)
This patch is currently targeted for September 18th PDT. Please note that updates for mobile devices may take a few additional hours to propagate.
Once these card changes are live, players will be able to disenchant cards that are not Basic (Murloc Warleader and Spreading Plague) for their full Arcane Dust value for two weeks. Basic cards cannot be disenchanted and will not be available for an Arcane Dust refund.
So...... when is Naga Sea Witch getting fixed? Getting real sick of seeing it.
Brode made a comment about it earlier today: https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/6zw2kp/nerfs_will_go_live_on_september_18th/dmyl6ko/
You're seeing it BECAUSE it was fixed. The card wasn't originally intended to completely override other reduction effects.
So would you rather go back to seeing more Jade Druids, or pirate warrior, or greedy value slog-fests with N'Zoth/Reno/Amara/Kazakus priests? You take out one deck you will have another annoying deck take its place 100% of the time.
Yay!
WOOOOOHOOOOO
BUST OUT THE CHAMPAGNE BOYS NO MORE TURN ONE HYDRA OR FLAPPY BIRD NO MORE TURN 6 UI (TURN 4 UI)
i'm happy
Is anyone who used the Warleaders beforehand actually going to dust them? I feel like it's still auto-include in any Murloc deck, plus he's still necessary for Anyfin builds.
I'm really torn though because I'm roughly 1k dust away from finishing Razakus Priest, and these nerfs' dust could put me very close (I'm missing Raza and DK, sitting on 2k dust).
Choices!
You can disenchant it for now, and later on just craft it for the same amount of dust when you plan to use it...
Speaking for myself, as I played a lot of Murloc Warlock last expansion and lots of Murloc Paladin this season, I have no intentions of dusting them.
Lol, I have literally the exact same question for the exact same reason. I'm at ~1900 dust and also need Raza and Anduin.
Yeah I know, but if I DE it for the dust, I would ofc plan on using the dust. If I want to use Warleader again, I might not have the dust on hand is all. Just was curious if there was going to be a large amount of dusters for this nerf, or if people want to keep them.
When Yogg got nerfed, I went ahead and kept him because I figured it would still be a good card (which it sort of is, and I still use him from time to time). Same goes for Warleader for me. Actually, I think the only nerf I took advantage of was Caverns Below, and I only DE'd it because that deck was so stupid to play, even before nerf (I normally keep all Rogue cards, no matter how shitty, but I turned the Caverns into Shaku so no regrets).
If you plan to play Murloc Paladin right after nerf, then sure you can keep it. Question is will Murloc Paladin be even good enough right now... biggest problem for opponents to not being able to remove murlocs is solved to certain degree with this change...
Sigh. Such small foresight. I think you're missing the point...
Warleader isn't just good in Standard Aggro Paladin, it's good in ALL murloc builds, which are used by other classes as well across multiple formats. For Paladin though, Anyfin is still played in Wild and it's better than murloc aggro imo. Plus it's historically been proven that Warleader/murlocs are good in adventures. So the question is not "will aggro murloc Pally be good in Standard," the question is "do I ever want to play a murloc deck again in any format, including solo? And if so, do I want to spend 800 dust to do it if I DE them now?"
I understand that, but you are talking like you have trouble getting 800 dust... For me 800 dust is like week or two of arena runs + daily quests (depending on how lucky I am with rewards) and I don't even do arena runs every day...
Again, you have no foresight. Not everyone can collect dust at the same rate as you, and yes 800 dust isn't something I'm likely to have all the time. I happen to right now because I got very lucky with packs from KoFT and I didn't have to craft much. I don't DE cards that go to Wild or cards that I feel could potentially see play at some point. A lot of people may have dusted cards like wailing soul[card] or [card]naga sea witch (hahahahaha), but I hold on to those types of cards indefinitely. So, 800 dust is quite a lot when you only complete your daily quests and weekly Brawl pack (no Arena b/c not fun for me). Also, a week is a pretty long time to invest in crafting some cards you used to own, especially with 3 expansions per year. But it's your free time, fella. I only play an hour or two each day.
I also hold onto them indefinitely... I didn't even dust my extras (like if I have both golden and non-golden types I kept both so far, like I have 4 Ultrasaurs because of how packs lined up and 3 Dinomancies, which I hate, but still haven't dusted yet) I only dust with the button or nerfed cards, so I will dust murlocs and spreading plague...
But I grind a lot... Like I haven't skipped even a single daily quest since I started playing hearthstone, 1 day - 1 daily quest. I play arena each day I'm not hanging out with my friends, so usually at least 3-4 times a week. and buy extra packs if I have more than 450 golds (450 is a magic number which is 3 arena tickets, basically keep enough gold to do arenas over the weekend even if I manage to fail miserably and not get any gold as rewards)
Worst thought out and executed balance patch in a long and infamous history. I sure as hell don't regret the decision I took at the beginning of Year of the Mammoth, to not spend a single cent on this game anymore.
Apparently the 3 people who downvoted this weren't around a year ago or so when the “nerf” to Shaman ushered an era of even bigger Shaman dominance. Oh well.
This is why they shouldn't nerf Innervate
