Yeah, devolve a (probably damaged) 8/8 into the same card with elemental tag is of course the reason for inventing a 11 mana card... not.
But now Yogg can evolve himself, so it's a nerf to Yogg for sure

So why is this elemental and Molten Giant, Mountain Giant and Arcane Giant still isn't?
Well, with Arcane Giant it makes sense, because that's an arcane construct rather than an elemental (Constructs are like enchanted clay golems or something like that) but as for the other two I don't know what to tell you.
From the image its not actually a giant in the warcraft race sense. What i wanna know is why slimes and bog creepeer arent elementals.
What element are bog creepers made of?
In world of warcraft they ARE elementals. Molten Giants from Ragnaros, Mountain Giants from Therazane, and Snowfury Giants assumedly from Neptulon. Arcane giants would be a construct (mechanical) if it's based on a curator-style creation, which means that should be a mech, which it isn't.
All of them SHOULD be classified, but aren't, and I don't know why. But Molten Giant and Mountain Giant and Snowfury Giant should absolutely be elementals based on World of Warcraft lore. Maybe they'll change their classification one day. They already did a mini post-un'goro release overhaul that turned more things into elementals, so they might do it again.
On topic, this is the first giant that's class-restricted, so that's really interesting to me. Maybe they'll make a warrior giant later down the line that costs less for every armor you have. Hmmmmm...
While you are correct, many of them are actually labeled elementals in World of Warcraft universe. They may not be necessarily created by the elemental lords, they still serve under them in many regards as their elemental minions
I think they made this for control-overload-spirit echo shaman. I mean, if you're going to run volcanoes. lightning storms and Earth elementals you're gonna get a good discount on them. and then you can easilyget a biig board and spirit echo it for great value
Now you can evolve 10 drops into 8 8.
and then eevolve them again into another 8 8

A decent overload deck is slowly becoming reality. We'll need a bit more though.
Now i understand why the 2/8 has overload 3. This probably isnt gonna be as hard to make 0-3 mana as people think. Also just imagine this in Wild!

You're all missing the true importance of this card! It's very, very important as a card because of Shaman, although it's unimportant that it's a Shaman class card. This is the first ever printed 11 mana card!!! Do you know what that means?! 10 drops can now be evolved! 10 mana cards used to be immune to evolve as a transformation effect, and 12 drops were immune to devolve, because there was nothing that was just 1 mana up or down!
This means N'Zoth Shaman could potentially evolve (with a discount) and even N'Zoth would upgrade to an 8/8. Not the most practical application, but this truly is exemplified with another old god: Yogg!
There was a highlight just recently (I forget who off the top of my head, someone link it if they know what I'm talking about) where a Yogg buffs the crap out of the opponents board. It gets worse and worse, until Yogg is on his last spell: devolve! Unfortunately, the two minions he had buffed were a 12 drop (arcane giant) and a 0 drop! So they don't even get transformed and silenced after all those buffs. While they was funny, the real importance with evolve, Yogg, and this new card is this:
