Nerf Announcement
Quote from KeganbeIn an upcoming update, we will be making a balance change to the Rogue card: The Caverns Below.
The Caverns Below now reads: Quest: Play five minions with the same name. Reward: Crystal Core.
Since the release of Journey to Un'Goro, Hearthstone has enjoyed a wider variety of competitively viable classes and decks than ever before. We’ve been monitoring overall gameplay, and we’ve decided that—even though everything is varied and many decks are viable—a change to The Caverns Below is still warranted.
The Caverns Below is uniquely powerful versus several slower, control-oriented decks and played often enough that it’s pushing those decks out of play. This change should help expand the deck options available to players both now and after the release of the next expansion.

Since we nerfing quests, let's also buff the paladin quest right? :D
I don't think it's buff-able :(
Adapt 10 times! Kappa
By Magic immunity I mean it isn't affected by spells (cannot be targeted by spells and is immune to spell damage).
This will make the guy immune to hard removal like destroy or polymorph effects. Should do the trick.
Honestly I think it needs to be 6. Igneous and firefly are too strong for this deck, and on another note they should fix when you Hex or Polymorph a minion it shouldn't have the quest effect. Just throwing it out for a consideration Ben Brode 😉
What do you mean "fix"? The text that is on the card is says exactly what the card does. Your minions are 5/5, period. It isn't saying something like "Buff your minions to 5 attack & 5 health". Slight difference, but important nonetheless. One could be dispellable (maybe) while the other cannot.
I think they mean that it should be dispellable.
Blizzard, you've done a good job!
Ok, now nerf Jade Idol and Primordial Glyph
So control decks can continue playing the 'exhaust your opponent's resources without actually actively trying to kill them' game? Jade Idol forces the archtype to be something other than a reactive playstyle.
In the lamest posible way...
I always thought 4 was too easy to complete compared to the other quests... I play quest rouge, but think this is a fair change.
OMG I'm pretty sure this is the worst change Blizzard could possibly have made it. Firstly, this deck is not OP at all. It's actually a pretty garbage deck because you can only ever win against control. With this nerf, Quest Rogue is still going to destroy control decks, and it will be even less useful against Aggro. I guess at least thanks for the dust Blizz
Excellent news! I don't know if the nerf goes far enough. I still think the minions should be susceptible to Hex, Polymorph, Silence etc. Now nerf Jade Idol please.
People still complaining should know that the hearthstone community doesn't really shout out loud enough. If you guys want to be listened, you literally have to shitstorm out as much as possible on any kind of service to actually be reconsidered (we can see this by our brothers from clash of clans playing f2p). I don't want to really ush people to do so but I am just trying to say that a bunch of anti comments won't really help much.
Personally, I am glad with this nerf but I think that the biggest problem is still igneous elemental giving that you are probably able to finish the quest on turn 5. About the other cards like brewmaster, shadowstep and our good venedig lookalike I'm totally fine now.
that reasoning behind the nerf is pretty lame, yes it can punish control players but jade druid destroys all control so y jade druid is not nerf'ed? ppl make deck to counter other decks on ladder all the time. i was just gonna craft the quest to play quest rogue, i guess i won't be doing it now
For all the people defending the rogue quest, i agree with you that its not the most OP deck.. BUT, for the amount of decks this quest had a good matchup against, its condition was too easy to be left alone. So far it is the ONLY quest that consistently gets completed by turn 5
Not sure this nerf is needed anymore. Quest Rogue doesn't seem to be that big anymore. I beat the pants off one with an Elemental Shaman deck.
