A Mammoth of a New Year is This Week's Brawl - It's Co-Op!
The party is here! Work together with another player to decorate the tavern and kickoff a grand New Year of Hearthstone.
Trivia
- This is a brand new brawl!
- The brawl is a celebration of the incoming new Standard Rotation, Year of the Mammoth.
- An Un'Goro card pack will be rewarded to winners of this week's brawl. This pack can be opened after Un'Goro launches.
- Party Crasher auto-attacks contribute to progress on the Deal 100 Damage to Enemy Heroes daily quest.
How it Works
- No deck creation this time, you get to play as either Valeera the Rogue or Malfurion the Druid - chosen at random when the game starts.
- If either of you get low, try and toss some heals out. Use them wisely!
- The game ends when one of you die. Don't die!
Phase 1
- Your initial goal is for you and your partner to decorate the party. You do this by using your Hero Power to add decorations.
- The Hero Power uses all your currently available Mana to go towards the decorations. In total, you must spend 25 mana together.
- In this phase, Party Crashers (4 mana 3/5 with Taunt) will spawn each turn. They attack face so deal with them.
- Once the party has been decorated, a Boss (Pinata Golem) will spawn. He cannot be targeted by spells.
- Don't use all your hard removal in this phase. The crashers are pretty easy to deal with and don't hurt as hard as they do in Phase 2!
Phase 2
- The boss spawns! He has 85 Health that you must take out together with your partner.
- Your hero power has changed! You can now spend 2 mana to deal 3 damage to the boss.
- The Party Crashers continue to spawn but now.. now they gain +2/+2!
- Do not under any circumstance fill your board. You want to have a slot open, otherwise, you get board cleared to make room the boss.
- Sometimes you will receive a treat when attacking the Pinata. These can help you draw cards, heal, or destroy Party Crashers.
- There is an AoE that goes out which deals 2 damage to everything that isn't a Party Crasher. Seems to happen either early on or later.
Discuss This Week's Brawl
We've got a thread up on our Tavern Brawl forums if you want to discuss strategies and such!
Dude sapped my Healbot and shadowstepped his coldlight when I was outta cards. He overdrew to give me fuel and HP. Shout-out to the real OG's
My partner killed my Kun and Icehowl. Sad life.
It was my partner's turn, I was at 3 health, and my partner had enough to win... I emoted to my partner, just to make sure they saw it too.
*ends turn*
Q.Q
Lucked out and got an opponent (partner) who knew what they were doing. Got my pack: I'm out.
I did it with good player, who knew, what it is about and what to do. Nice cooperation.
Idiots who can't read and buff the Party Crashers with Bananas...
Ikr there's been too many people that have killed me
would be nice if not for the idiots who play this game... played 6 so far, noone got the idea of the brawl.. haha
Did not enjoy.
BUT, to each his own.
they need to tell the player that this is a work together brawl. i lost patience after the third loss because players dont realize it.
Not a bad Brawl to play with friends but isn't worth playing a lot for gold. Infinitely better than the last two Brawls.
6/10
Its a good move by Blizzard, preventing minions to hit the enemy face when there are no Party Crashers around. Saves us plenty of time that would be wasted with idiots that have no clue how the brawl works.
Cool brawl but players are terrible, my "partner" missed lethal on piñata and he was triggering naturalise on my minions cause he didn't know that he has to work with me
This was a weird brawl to play right at the on-set of the brawl. My "teammate" and I were trying to beat each other until the boss appeared and we had that realization that we both were supposed to survive. Quite a surprise, but we managed to win - seems like this wasn't that hard a brawl, at least not as tough as Mechazod.
This Brawl was probably the best one yet!
This tavern brawl RULES!!!!!! i love co-op especially when you have to co-op without talking makes the mindgames so much harder and challenging :D
I'll give Blizzard credit for using the Party Crashers of that horrendous brawl two weeks ago properly this time. I enjoyed this brawl!
Could have been a bit harder, neither me nor my opponent ever dropped below 20 health, but I guess that's because they want to appeal to all ages in terms of difficulty.
